When I first saw this device at Computex in Taiwan I was all excited about it and wondered why nobody else has made something like it before. The Kama Connect is a little ingenious device that will come in handy once you start working with several computers and have to transport data between them. Being able to connect SATA and IDE devices at the same time including optical drives is a big plus over other external USB storage solutions.
With its high speeds of 30 MB/s (maximum for USB) it might become a viable option for people who have run out of SATA/ports on the motherboard but want to add another HDD just for storage. Or maybe you don't want your EIDE CD/DVD-ROM to be connected all the time *HINT* SecuROM / StarForce *HINT*.
The Kama Connect might also be useful when installing a big number of systems, you can just go around with the unit and install software without working Ethernet. Scthe's Kama Connect works without any driver installation under Windows 2000 and up.
I only have to criticize the external PSU, it is quite chunky and heavy, maybe a future revision could integrate the power supply into the Kama Connect case. The PSU is required only for powering the HDDs, so if you find a HDD power connector with 12V and 5V you do not need to use the PSU.
