The Drive

The drive conforms to the dimensions set forth by the 2.5" form factor. It is made out of metal to improve its durability and is only 7 mm thick, which makes it compatible with Intel's Ultrabook specification.

SSD Interface Connector

The Seagate BarraCuda uses the SATA 6 Gbps interface. It is compatible with any older SATA standard, but will, in such a case, work at reduced performance.

You will find the SSD controller, eight flash chips, and a DRAM chip on the PCB.

SSD Controller

The Seagate STXZA01EA3B7 controller seems to be a customized version of the Phison PS5010, which is an 8-channel flash controller with TLC support.

SSD Flash Chips

The eight flash chips are Toshiba BiCS 64-layer 3D TLC NAND.

SSD DRAM Chip

A Nanya 512 MB DDR3 chip provides fast DRAM storage for the controller to work with.
