Seasonic Snow Silent 750 W Review

A Look Inside & Component Analysis »

Packaging

The only difference the capacity description in the top-right corner on the front, the box design is basically the same as for the Snow Silent-1050. The 80 PLUS badge is right next to a small photo of the PSU, and the silver line on front is exactly the same as those featured on the PSU's sides.

The specifications table is on one of two sides. The other comes with the Platinum efficiency badge and a photo of the unit with its modular panel exposed.

In the top-right corner, at the packaging's top side, are two icons for the unit's ErP and Intel Haswell compatibility. A multilingual features description has been put on the bottom.

You will find some useful information, including several paragraphs that cover the PSU's main features and a graph with the fan's speed curve in semi-passive and normal mode, on the back of the box.

Contents

The unit is protected by packing foam and comes inside a nice cloth bag with Seasonic's logo on it.

The bundle is rich and includes two sets of Velcro straps, several zip-ties, a set of screws, a case badge, and the modular cables.

Seasonic not only provides a user's manual as there is also a piece of paper to inform users of the fact that power hungry VGAs should use two PCIe cables with one connector each instead of a cable with two PCIe connectors. However. you don't have to worry about it since this PSU only comes with PCIe cables with one connector.

Exterior

This is a nice-looking PSU, which is mostly due to its excellent white paint job and white fan. The silver frame around the fan grill also adds to its appearance. The only thing that doesn't go over as well is the front exhaust grill's plain and rather typical honeycomb mesh; Seasonic should be less conservative with the grill.

Seasonic stamped the letter "S" into the casing's sides, and the silver lines there nicely break up the white monotony. The specifications label is on the PSU's back.

Fully modular, the modular panel has many sockets, and Seasonic unfortunately installed the fan-mode switch there. This switch should be at the PSU's front to make it more readily accessible.

The PSU is significantly smaller than the Snow Silent-1050; however, one would have a hard time distinguishing between the two from a distance.

Cables

Only the main ATX cable is round. All other cables are flat. Seasonic should use white cables with this PSU instead of flat and black ones since users with white cases will buy this PSU and white cables are definitely stealthier than black ones inside a white case.
