Introduction
From the Silverstone website:Here at SilverStone Technology, we continue to pride ourselves in providing the highest level of standards in designing and manufacturing computer enclosures, power supplies, and accessories. Our pursuit for the first class aesthetic appeal is relentless; our teams of devoted engineers are constantly searching for the best technologies that suit end-users with different needs and will make our products as technologically sound as they are beautiful.
Silverstone is a well-established brand in the PC-enthusiast space, having garnered a huge following with their many products in various market segments. With chassis, coolers, fans, and more, they have something for everyone. Not just the products have made Silverstone what it is today. The company's policy of outstanding design, perfect quality, and customer satisfaction has also really helped ingrain it into the minds of PC enthusiasts.
The products responsible for making Silverstone stand out over time do come out of their chassis line-up. The Temjin- and Sugo series have been enthusiast favorites for years, being of superb quality and offering unique designs that set them apart from the competition. Silverstone has also been a force in the cooling market for quite some time, and let’s not forget the top notch power supplies they offers with their Strider series of units. Still, it is the company's chassis line-up that has kept the enthusiast's favor, and with unique designs like the RAVEN series, it’s no wonder why.
Moving on, I will be reviewing the Silverstone Heligon HE01. The heatsink is of a more traditional design, making use of multiple heatpipes and two fin stacks; however, the use of a 140 mm x 38 mm fan is certainly a departure from the norm. I have to say that I have mixed feelings as to the design of the cooler itself, but looks and specifications can be very misleading. With that said, it’s time to see just what this Silverstone cooler can do.
