A Closer Look - Outside

Out of the box, the ML08 comes bare, so you should take care not to scratch it when handling the unit during assembly. Silverstone has essentially taken the tooling of the RAVEN Z RVZ02 and placed a cleaner front on it, so you can be sure to come across a lot of gamer features inside.

In the front, clean edges and indents make up for the design, which is balanced in a way that allows you to stand it up on either side or lay it flat on a surface. Look at the rear and it becomes apparent that the GPU or an expansion card will be routed away from the ITX board due to the visible configuration.

Both sides of the chassis are actually based on the same tooling, meaning you will find the same large opening on both, covered with a plastic panel that also holds a fine dust filter. Due to the fact that the ML08 comes with no active cooling aside from those of installed component, these large openings will eliminate any issues as all cooling bits are very close to the chassis' surface.

You may pull each of the covers off for easy cleaning. They are held in place with clips, which means you won't have to worry about them falling off during transport.

Taking a closer look at the chassis, you will find the slimline drive of either the tray or slot-in variant in the top half. Below that, at the center, are the power and reset buttons as well as a pair of USB 3.0 connectors and the usual audio plugs. If you look closely, you will notice the buttons' label, which - if one is really picky - means that you should be standing the case up just like we are doing in this review.

In the rear, the motherboard cutout is of full height, so any traditional Mini-ITX board should fit. Above that are the two expansion slots. Each is protected by a cover that is held in place by a screw. Due to the constrains of the case, their mounting points are on the exterior of the ML08.
