We received the silver version for review, which also comes with black metal-mesh covers that are held in place by magnets. Just like all their other enclosures, the Streacom F12C is made of aluminum. Once again Streacom went all the way by utilizing 4 mm thick panels for the exterior of the chassis, with the same minimalistic looks we have come to expect from the brand.

The entire front is completely solid with the exception of the power button and darkly tinted cover that allows for an IR signal if you install the separately available IR unit. Look at the rear and that this is Streamcon's first full ATX chassis becomes apparent, as the number of expansion slot covers tells you that such a board will fit into the chassis. To access the interior easily, Streacom added dials on the rear, which push the cover up once and release it - pretty clever.

Looking at the sides of the F12C, you will also find two dust filter openings on each. These are engineered in the same way as those on top, held in place with a magnetic layer and four little metal pins which are in turn embedded into the aluminum chassis.

In the rear, there is a PSU bay for a fully sized unit with two sets of mounting screws, so you may choose the direction the unit's intake fan faces. Next to it are the cutout for the motherboard I/O and seven solid, reusable expansion-slot covers. To gain access to these, you will first have to remove a little cover.

Taking a quick look at the underside, the Streacom F12C comes with various air vents which will be underneath the motherboard once installed. Four nice feet give the chassis some space and add to the HiFi look.
