Streacom continues to offer clean and stylish cases that utilize excellent materials. The resulting high quality also has its price as the Streacom F12C clocks in at 240 euro. For that you essentially get highest quality 4 mm thick aluminum and a very unique modular fan/HDD/SSD/liquid cooling mounting system. The excessive use of aluminum is great in comparison to more traditional brands like Lian Li, and Streacom has managed to engineer something very unique with their hard-drive clips. It is fun to play around with these and place your additional components nearly anywhere along the sides to maximize the use of space, and the ability to install liquid cooling in the ceiling of the F12C is new to Streacom cases as well. Last but not least, with the easily removable mesh panels, access to the chassis is easy (albeit it offers no security) and makes cleaning of the metal-mesh parts a breeze.
Sure, the material comes at a cost and Streacom does not include a single fan, has skipped over the IR Module, and excluded the I/O for design-specific reasons. All of the above with the exception of the IR Module can be forgiven. The case feels slightly incomplete without the ability to receive an infrared signal from a remote control. The select group that will go for this chassis will pick it due to its incredibly solid build and look, to place it in the living room, disregarding price or feature set. For that set of users, the F12C is a sexy choice, but it is hard to justify the price-to-performance for anyone else. That said, this is exactly what Streacom was going for: the highest quality and a unique spin on required functionality.
