Installation

The first piece of hardware added to the case were the two drives. The hard disk drive needed to have the four large plastic standoffs attached to the sides. These plastic standoffs are used to take up the space between a 3.5" drive and a 5.25" bay. In order to install the drives the front panel (the one with no holes in it) and the small access panel had to be removed. However, if installing components while assembling this case, disassembly should not be necessary. Again, please remember to not tighten the screws all the way until everything is complete.

Installation of the other components are the same as with a regular metal case. The only other unique installation note is to run the power and drive cabling through the motherboard tray to the compartment below. When everything is installed, start tightening up the screws. For the thumbscrews, tighten them as much as possible by hand. If needed, a flat screwdriver can be used to tighten them the rest of the way, but be very careful not to let the tip slip or to break out the slot by trying to tighten the screw too much.

Since this is a clear case users should keep in mind that wiring can easily turn messy. Taking the extra time to route cables and wires will make the finished project look much better, and impress others like this case is meant to. One problem I found when routing the cables was that the wires for the front audio ports were too short to reach the Karajan Audio module on the DFI motherboard. However, if the board being used has the audio headers much closer to the ports, this should not be a problem.

Finished Look

Since this case is UV reactive, I added a single 12" tube to the front of the case at the top, using the Velcro that came with the light to secure it to the L-brackets. With the system powered up and the lights running the case comes alive. The pictures below do not do the case justice, as the lighting is much brighter but not as washed out around the lights. In all honesty, I wish I had more UV lights to install. I would recommend a dual 12" kit for the front panel or top and another 4" or 6" kit for other tighter areas in the case.
