There is no front USB port, which is a great shame.

The NAS sits on four rubber feet which absorb any vibrations and keep it in place on even slippery surfaces. The power specifications label is at the bottom.


All input and output ports are on this side.


To install the drives, remove two screws at the back and open the NAS to access the internal bays. While straightforward, take a look at the manual before you start.


The power adapter is made by Channel Well Technology (CWT), and its model number is KPL-060F-VI. It can deliver up to 5 A with 12 V output, or 60 W. The DS420j's power adapter can deliver an additional 30 W.
