We used a CEM-8852 Sound DB Meter which we installed 50 cm from the NAS for these measurements. Ambient noise in our lab was below 30 dBA while these noise measurements were taken.
Output noise was relatively normal considering this NAS is meant for business environments, where noise usually isn't an issue.
Output Noise Comparison Graphs
The following graphs depict the DS415+'s output noise, comparing it to other units we have tested in the past.
Compared to the all other NAS servers we have tested thus far, the DS415+ sits somewhere in the middle of the pack in terms of noise output.
