Finished Looks

What the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO lacks in crazy features, and visual accents it makes up for with simple aesthetics and uniform design. Being entirely black it blends in with the system well enough to be unobtrusive. Only the brass on the fan hub adding any nominal difference in color scheme outside the ARGB lighting on the fan corners. Overall the Phantom Spirit 120 EVO is a cooler for those that value simple designs and understated looks.

Graphics card clearance is perfect with no issues to be found, and since the cooler can be flipped around it can also be setup to avoid motherboard heatsinks, should that be necessary. Memory clearance on the other hand is essentially acceptable but little more. You will be limited to standard height or slightly taller memory as the fan and cooler will overhang all four DIMM slots. Any system memory with large heatsinks or eccentric LED lighting will not clear the fan without it being raised up, which increases overall cooler height while also lowering overall performance. Therefore while GPU clearance is great, when it comes to system memory keep it simple and stick with standard height DIMMs.

The ARGB lighting on the fans is minimal, it adds a nice splash of color if you're into that, but it doesn't command any real attention as the LEDs on the middle fan are barely noticeable and due to the simple aesthetics the ARGB LEDs on the front fan won't stand out as a central focal point. That said, the lighting itself was decent and uniform so no real complaints there, but overall it feels like it was added as a way to add a feature checkmark more than anything else. I am not saying it's bad by any means, but it feels like it doesn't know what it wants to be.
