If you were to look at The Tower 600 in form of a traditional, square chassis, priced at $170 it makes perfect sense, considering the plentiful accessories, unique color and its functionality. Then considering that it is shaped the way it is, the price actually feels rather attractive overall.
There are very few brands out there that consistently try to push the design envelope, especially if you leave out those that tend to have one or two special SKUs to get some extra attention in a crowded case market. Thermaltake is probably at the top of that short list with its consistency to offer cases that aren't simply square boxes. Sure, you will find classic ones as well, but the fact that The Tower is now essentially in its second generation with different sizes and unique colors speaks to the dedication Thermaltake has to not only try something new, but then also improve upon it. Adding to this the fact that you will also find plenty of supporting SKUs to match the color or expand functionality further cements the fact that these unique cases are here to stay.
The Tower 600 is one awesome looking case. Yes, it is large, but it will certainly be a conversation piece on any desktop due to its unique shape and colors. Even with all that custom tooling and engineering. Thermaltake managed to get things right for the most part. You can fit massive air coolers, big radiators and all the usual potent gaming hardware without any issues. On top of that cable management has a few nice highlights like the plastic clips on the side and the dedicated access panels that go with those areas.
That said, there are still a few things to improve, some of which are easily resolved. For example, having grommets on cable routing openings. Similarly adding a third fan on the floor just under the GPU could make the difference between average vs good GPU thermals. The design also means that you have to make some compromises to attach all the external cables to your system, so be prepared for that complication. Yes, the fans are loud but manage to keep the CPU incredibly cool so you have plenty of wiggle room to dial them back to find that perfect balance.
But come on, for $170 you get a unique case, a ton of accessories for other scenarios and special color options with the ability to match fans, add a display and even stand it up on its side if you want to really make it pop even more. There is a lot to love when it comes to Thermaltake's The Tower 600.
