I can already see the comments section going wild about the shape and design of the TRETTITRE TreSound1. I suppose if the company wanted to make a name for itself then putting out a speaker shaped like a mountain peak would certainly do it. It's a weird product that is a single unit akin to most Bluetooth speakers and yet has five speaker drivers in a 3-way crossover to more closely resemble a 2.1 channel speaker system. Then there's the part where the drivers are oriented to fire sound outwards in a 360° field, or at least as close to it as reasonable, and the TreSound1 is really in a niche category of its own if you are looking for a speaker that feels like an art piece in the living room during the day and doubles up as a party accessory at night. You can use it to play calming jazz when working or thumping EDM with company over and jiving around the speaker. Yes, there are party speakers from brands both small and mainstream alike which have different speaker drivers firing outwards. But even they don't claim the full surround sound experience that TRETTITRE does and for good reason, given they tend to be far bigger, uglier, and more power consuming to where the form factor is more typical with 2-3 open sides and a closed back. The TreSound1 merits being called the first of its kind thus, at least in my books.

So if this is the use case that is appealing to you then I suppose the TreSound1 was made just for you! There are of course issues to be aware of, including the reliance of the client device for playback controls as well as mute/unmute. There is no fancy mobile app here or even Bluetooth codecs any better than aptX HD. You will certainly feel distortion and loss of clarity in the higher frequencies compared to the wired experience which is available here. The bass extension and quality is legitimately good and yet it is still dependent on the surroundings as well as how far you are from it. If you are using the TreSound1 on a desk that you are also typing on, for example, the bass and lower mids will come off much better than it will on a stand and you sitting on a chair or couch. A decent set of wired monitor speakers will probably be a safer bet on a desk though, so once again we are back in that tiny niche the TRETTITRE TreSound1 finds itself in. I can't fully recommend it for everyone but I can certainly see the company picking up plenty of sales. At the $599 discounted sale price, there are far worse things to spend your money on. It's also a novel enough design paired with premium aesthetics and build quality to win the innovation award too.
