Packaging and Accessories

I knew going in that Varmilo typically has something extra thrown in the product packaging along with the product box itself, and the trend continues here. The product packaging employs an aptly-sized cardboard box with Varmilo branding on it, and on the side is a sticker confirming the item inside. Open it up and we see the keyboard box placed firmly between two pieces of thick foam for added protection on its way to you, but also two accessories here that you might otherwise miss if you were not looking for them. We'll get to these replacement keycaps soon enough!

The product box for the Varmilo Minilo series is designed based on the specific theme used, with this Eucalyptus theme going with the base cream color we saw employed before. It comes in a plastic wrap to help keep it clean and I'd rather the company omit it entirely given that plastic is just headed to the trash now. The box design is extremely clean befitting the theme with just Varmilo and Minilo keyboard printed on the front, allowing the company to re-use the same design in a different color when a new theme comes up. The subtle design continues on the back and sides too with contact info and certification logos along with another sticker confirming the exact SKU inside. Two double flaps on the side help keep the contents in place on their way to you.

Open the box and you will see the keyboard right away inside a plastic mold cover that does double duty as a dust cover later on, and both are inside a wax paper wrap to further keep the keyboard pristine for the unboxing experience. There is cardboard all around for extra protection with the accessories found underneath or to the top in a separate compartment. Not much useful in terms of paperwork here, although the small guide does point you towards a more detailed user manual online which I highly recommend going over first to make the most of the keyboard and all pre-programmed functions.

Those keycaps from earlier come back for a closer examination and we see Varmilo is providing a replacement space bar keycap in addition to Esc, Tilde (~), and Enter. These come in different colors and are composed of thick ABS plastic with doubleshot injected legends in the same manner as what we saw on the Shurikey Gear Hanzo before. In addition, there's the expected detachable Type-C to Type-A keyboard cable and a textured white metal wire-style keycap puller with the Varmilo logo on it. This is one of the best keycap pullers I have used to date in both function and form, and I appreciate it being included in the packaging.
