Efficiency is the highest possible and it is compliant with the 80 Plus Platinum standard. The available protections include the rare OTP (Over Temperature Protection) which is good to see in PSUs and the cooling of the PSU is handled by two 60mm fans. The weight of the unit is restricted to only 1.6kg and this is mainly due to the fully modular cabling design used and of course the special design that Xilence utilized. The warranty is set at five years, a fairly long period and finally the price puts the PSU in the high-end category so things are going to get tough for it.

There are five +12V rails with relatively small capacity each. We would highly prefer fewer more powerful rails, so that future buyers will not face any problems like OCP triggering with power hungry VGAs. Thankfully the full power of the PSU can be delivered by the +12V rails alone and the 5VSB rail is pretty strong for the category of the unit. Finally the minor rails have sufficient power for a contemporary system.

The unit is equipped with two EPS connectors and six PCIe ones with all being available at the same time. Also only three out of the six PCIe sockets of the modular PCB are used by the PCIe cables since each one has two connectors. Here we should state that we cannot see the reason for equipping an 850W unit with so many PCIe sockets since only half of them will be utilized and the rest will remain empty. SATA and peripheral connectors are more than enough for the unit's capacity and surely will cover all needs.
The main ATX cable along with the second EPS cable is 50mm shorter than what we consider ideal but all other cables have sufficient length and also the distance among connectors is the right one, according to the ATX spec. Finally the 24pin ATX connector uses thicker 16AWG wires for reduced voltage drops at higher loads while all other connectors use the normal 18AWG gauges.
