Zowie Divina S Series Review

Surface and Materials

The surface coating is glossy on all Divina mice so far, and the S1 and S2 are no exceptions. This may put a lot of potential users off, but those who have dry hands might find the surface coating on the S series perfectly ideal. As for people with generally sweatier hands, you should probably go for something matte or rubberized, although, again, a matter of personal preference.

The whole mouse features the same surface treatment, meaning there are no rubberized or even textured side grips that could help a bit with grippiness. The scroll wheel has an inward-textured outer rubber part, and the side buttons have a matte touch to them.

The mouse is also available in light blue.

Build Quality

Build quality of some newer Zowie mice is questionable, but my Divina S1 is of pretty much perfect build quality. The shell doesn't emit any creaking or squeaking, and you can only hear an extremely quiet rattle when you shake the mouse vigorously, which is most probably due to internal ribbon cables moving around. I couldn't find any misalignments either as everything is lined up nicely, and the internal solder joints look perfect as well.

Weight

Specifications say the Divina S1 weighs 87 grams, while the Divina S2 stands on 82 grams. In reality, there was no way I could make my scale show 87 grams with the S1. All my other mice show their correct weights, so it's definitely not a scale problem. I guess the manufacturer weighed the mouse without the cable actually attached internally, which took a few grams off. The weight is decent for a mouse of this size, and it feels nice and balanced, too.
