Zowie EC3-C Review

Packaging

Aside from the mouse, one finds a user guide, warranty card, sticker, and set of replacement mouse feet in the box.

Weight

My scale shows around 78 g (+/- 1 g). Zowie cites 70 g without the cable, which still seems like a stretch. Either way, the EC3-C isn't heavy, though not particularly light, either. For comparison, the EC2-B clocked in at around 91 g, VAXEE Outset AX at 81 g, and VAXEE ZYGEN NP-01S at 68 g.

Cable

The EC3-C features a paracord-like, braided cable. In terms of flexibility, it eclipses both previous Zowie and VAXEE cables. I'd rank it slightly below the Xtrfy MZ1, though the difference is rather small. Overall, a massive improvement. Much like on recent Zowie and VAXEE mice, the cable exit is angled upwards.

Feet

The EC3-C comes with regular black-dyed PTFE (Teflon) feet with slightly rounded edges. Glide is very good. The ring around the sensor ensures CPI stays consistent upon applying vertical pressure. Small indentations next to the feet make them easier to remove. A set of replacement mouse feet is included.

In addition to the black-dyed feet installed by default, Zowie also offers white-dyed pure PTFE feet providing a faster glide as a separate purchase. At approximately 0.6 mm, both have the same thickness.
