Packaging

The S2 comes in the usual Zowie packaging, which includes a set of replacement mouse feet, a sticker, warranty information, and a small booklet. The mouse sits nice and safe in a plastic mold.

Weight

My scale shows around 85 g (+/- 1 g) with a bit of cable, which is decent for the size of the S2. Compared to similarly sized mice like the Endgame Gear XM1 or Razer Viper, which weigh around 70 g without having to resort to holes in the shell, the S2 is on the higher end of the weight spectrum. It also feels somewhat heavy when held (heavier than the 90 g G403, for example), which I attribute to the rather thick shell walls. For the record, the top shell alone weighs 41 g.

Cable

The S2 is using a standard black rubber cable. In terms of flexibility, I'd say it's roughly on par with the EC2-B cable, which means it's more flexible than the cable of the Endgame Gear XM1, but less flexible than the paracord-like cables of the Glorious Model O or Dream Machines DM1 FPS. It is 2.1 m long. The cable has a ferrite bead, which reduces noise, as well as a gold-plated USB connector.

One thing of note is that the cable extrudes at a slightly upward angle, which is supposed to reduce cable drag on the mouse pad. In practice, this works quite well, although the effect is minimal if a mouse bungee is used.

Feet

The S2 features standard PTFE feet (dyed black), which glide nicely. For the S series, Zowie went back to their traditional design of two big feet (one at the top, one at the bottom) as there were complaints about the smaller feet (non-dyed, pure PTFE) on the EC-B series. Personally, I would have preferred the EC-B feet due to their faster glide, but the feet on the S2 are just fine as well. It's also nice that their shape is exactly the same as on the ZA11, ZA12, FK1+, FK1, FK2, FK, and AM, which makes existing aftermarket feet (e.g. Hyperglides) usable without issue.
