Corsair, a worldwide leader in high-performance computer and flash memory products, today announced that it was voted Best Memory Manufacturer 2009 and Best PSU Manufacturer 2009 by the readers of Custom PC magazine and bit-tech.net.
Custom PC magazine and bit-tech.net, based in the United Kingdom, are two of the most highly respected and influential technology publications in the world. These awards were voted for by their audience of PC hardware enthusiasts and overclockers, and Corsair emerged as the clear winner in the Power Supply and Memory categories.
"Corsair winning the award for Best Power Supply Manufacturer for the third year running is a terrific achievement as it's a very competitive section of the marketplace where reliability and stability are key," said Alex Watson, Group Editor of Custom PC and bit-tech.net. "Corsair's award for Best Memory Manufacturer is a testament to the speed, value and design of its modules. The company also played a key role in this year's winning Dream PC, the Scan 3XS Jellyfish, supplying its chassis, solid-state drives and DDR3 memory. Congratulations to Corsair, the awards were well deserved."Corsair is famous for its reliable, ultra high-performance memory, with the Dominator and Dominator GT products being the choice of enthusiasts and overclockers the world over. By applying the same principles of superior-quality engineering and product testing to other products, Corsair has successfully expanded its product portfolio. In addition to its world-leading range of power supplies, Corsair successfully entered into the chassis and cooling markets in 2009, with the award-winning Obsidian 800D chassis and Hydro Series H50 high-performance CPU Cooler.
"Corsair is honored to have been voted Best Memory Manufacturer 2009 and Best PSU Manufacturer 2009 by the technology-savvy readers of Custom PC and bit-tech.net, who are also our valued customers," said Andy paul, President and CEO of Corsair. ER is right though, no surprise there. Great RAM and easy RMA process if you need it.
Price sometimes is a bit high but i have to say that its worth it because of the quality.
Tough, never had their memory too, I think they can´t beat price/performace of my CSX value 6GB kit.. (running at 1600MHz CL8 :D - or 2000 CL9 .. or 2100 CL9 .. or whatever I can do with my i7 :D almost everything..).
On a side note ive never bought Corsair RAM because ussualy the OCZ Platinum gets me with there low prices and look. I do want to grab 4gb of Corsair Dominator for my system, but the prices on DDR2 RAM are just ridiculous.
I've only ever had one Corsair fail & that was bought off eBay, the rest which I have purchased 'properly' are amazing!
I am a grammar Nazi, but it is for the greater good.
:rockout:
Even their 1000 watt one is a good deal to me.
I beat the crap out of and modded quite a bit their 750HX and it still works like a champ.
To me the TRICK is gonna be to keep it up.....(once ur at the top falling is easier to do)
I notice a lot of other higher end PS companies making junk now...(hint hint Seasonic, OCZ)
The PSU's are made by Seasonic and other PSU manufacturers, and the memory chips come from Elphida and other manufacturers and Corsair throws on their badge.
So the title should say best memory and PSU re-brander/re-seller not manufacturer
They do at least use quality stuff from quality manufacturers though.
Why pay more when Gskill provides the same for less? You can check the chips if you please.
As for re-branding you just need to compare forum threads & reviews of the H50 with Asetec LCLC 120 to see how well the badge impacts a product's consumer acceptance and review ratings despite being the same underneath and carrying a higher price tag.
