ASUS Unveils the World's Lowest Radiation Motherboards

ASUS has set a new standard in total motherboard protection with the launch of the ASUS Protect 3.0 Design based on Xtreme Design, which helps protect the earth, systems, and users. Equipped with intelligent anti-radiation shielding, the technology lowers the generation and transmission of harmful radiation by up to 50%-offering the lowest electromagnetic emissions from a motherboard in the industry. This lowers the adverse health impact to users and delivers more stable system operations. Additionally, active anti-surge protection helps enhance component and system longevity. Protect 3.0 also includes the ASUS EPU (Energy Processing Unit) chip to reduce system-wide power consumption by up to 80.23%* and to ensure a more environmentally sustainable operation.
Significant Elimination of Harmful Electromagnetic Rays with Low Radiation Design
On average, users are exposed to about eight hours of electromagnetic radiation daily from computer usage. Protect 3.0 effectively reduces this radiation exposure by up to 50%-achieving the lowest radiation emission levels in the industry. This technology is able to meet more stringent radiation limits by employing intelligent design features including the use of low-radiation components to minimize radiation generated. Additionally, a Low Radiation Circuit Design reduces the radiation produced by electrical components by intelligently positioning oppositely-charged electrical flows across each other to cancel out the fields generated. Finally, a Radiation Moat Design effectively eliminates radiation leakage to surrounding components by confining it to small region around an active area.

Enhanced Component and System Longevity with Anti-Surge Design
With its Anti-Surge Design, Protect 3.0 detects under- or overvoltage conditions in components and prevents electrical surges from spreading. Whenever surges occur especially during a thunderstorm or periods of unstable grid power delivery, Anti-Surge will immediately shut off the electrical supply and prevent potential component damage-thus enhancing total system longevity.

Superb Efficiency and Eco-friendly Operations with EPU Energy Saving Design
For enhanced efficiency and more earth-friendly operations, Protect 3.0 includes the ASUS EPU (Energy Processing Unit), an energy-saving chip that intelligently reduces power consumption by up to 80.23%. EPU automatically fine-tunes the power channeled to components such as the CPU in real time for superb efficiency. To further reduce energy consumption, EPU also automatically delivers the most appropriate power via intelligent acceleration and overclocking. Such enhanced efficiency results in less CO2 released to the atmosphere from lower power generation. In fact, 10 million EPU-enabled motherboards can help eliminate up to 207,430 tons of CO2**-equivalent to Australia's annual carbon emissions.*Results may vary according to different system operations and configurations.
**A single EPU-enabled motherboard can save up to 33kw of electricity annually, reducing the release of CO2 into the atmosphere by 20.7kg. Source: http://carma.org (Carbon Monitoring for Action)

One of the biggest BS in the last time... imho of course.

This is funny, Anti Radiation, sorry dude it was called spread spectrum, which in turn hindered computer performance by a few MHz.

Well, yeah. Actually is this type of radiation Asus is talking about, not poisonous radiation. It seems that the EM radiation the mobos emit are bad for electrical components not for the human being, lol. More details on Asus page...

they are in the RF- Microwave sector of the EM spectrum. RF can be harmful to humans if its amplitude is high enough and you are exposed to it long enough.

RF Radiation exposure symptoms consist of, Headaches, nausea/vomiting, eye pain/blindness, temporary sterility unless if exposed way too long.

High Power RF practically can act like Microwaves and cook you from the Inside out.

Agree, but now let's think logically. How much radiation a PC can produce?! I think speaking on a phone radiates you more than double than if you use the PC for 8 hours straight...

as i say this is a marketing gimmick just like the EPU that asus has on their boards.

Well EPU is not just a market gimmick, it actually reduce overall consumption quite a lot. The marketing crap is the info they provide about carbon emissions and power savings witch are realy a BIG B.S.!!! harhar :nutkick:

Hahah Sometimes, I love marketing. Sometimes.

Just how many Harmful Electromagnetic Rays does a motherboard produce?

Should I fear my P6T more than my 120hz monitor? Or more than the 200 watt amplifier/subwoofer I rest my feet on? Should I be more concerned with my P6T than actually going outside?

If you want to talk about EM radiation, let's talk about something serious. How about that GSM/mobile phone antennas on the buildings. If you would know how much radiation they emit you'll freak out.

radiation is apart of the EM spectrum
just depends on whether it's Radio, microwave, Light, X-Ray, Gamma and anything in between. Now some things can be very high Powered and not fit the spectrum, but the Spectrum is dependent on the Frequency it operates not the power.

Example, Radio Towers/Cell Towers and Radar, Very High Powered and tend to operate at lower frequencies hence why you can't see whats emitted.- they can fry you internally, That is a form of Radiation Sickness- Symptoms are from minor to max, Fatigue, Headache Eye Pain, Nausea/Vomiting, Dehydration, Blindness, Sterility, Unconsciousness, Death.

It all depends on the power of the transmitted radiation and the exposure time.

THat's obviously a fake , it has been proven on many modding sites before , it's a fake empty chip , or atleast a fake nametag on some normal chip.

If it REALLY does anything , it does 5% at most , 80% is a pile of BS , gigabyte and other would be obsolete if it would be true.
JackAttackDon't smoke cigarettes, wear your helmet riding your bicycle, wear your seatbelt riding in your car mandatory, the earth is doomed due to global warming yet I'm freezing here, traffic cameras to catch you speeding, and now computer radiation is on the block.
Oh boy, I think I've had enough of the BS.

ASUS EPU is scam and that CO2 emmison bullshit is a pile of contracted propaganda wanting us to believe NWO crap , in order so they can have their CARBON TAX THE WHOLE WORLD. Al Gore was just one of their tools.
""Humanity might be "sitting on a ticking time bomb," but Gore's home in Carthage is sitting on a zinc mine. Gore receives $20,000 a year in royalties from Pasminco Zinc, which operates a zinc concession on his property. Tennessee has cited the company for adding large quantities of barium, iron and zinc to the nearby Caney Fork River.""http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/editorials/2006-08-09-gore-green_x.htm

Agree. As I proved to you, I can only go 25% in reduction, more it causes the PC to freeze. But that 80% ASUS claims, I think it represents how much difference in power
is from a system at full load (Ex: Playing an GPU intensive game while burning some blu-ray thing) and when the system it's at it lowest power state. (PC iddling in sleep-mode with EPU enabled...)

they arent comparing the system at all.

Its TDP of the CPU at load vs (innacurately measured) power draw at idle. CPU only, not the rest of the system.

This asus stuff cant make your GPU idle any lower, for example - so the power draw claims are misleading.

95W TDP Q6600 idling with lower voltage would be maybe 30-35W? (speedstep values?) you could claim that as 60% reduction

Oh no... The pc I am at now doesn't have an asus extreme design protection EMI shielded motherboard. does this mean I am being radiated by harmful emissions.

AM I GOING TO DIE!!!
