ASUS Introduces New Designo ML Series Super-slim LED Monitor Models
ASUS announced three LED monitors with IPS (In-Plane Switching) and VA (Vertical Alignment) panels in the award-winning, super-slim ASUS Designo ML Series. The 21.5" ML229H, 23" ML239H, and 24" ML249H all have a full range of features designed to provide an exceptional viewing experience, including 178° ultra-wide viewing angles and extremely bright 50,000,000:1 contrast ratios, engineered to perform in a thin and elegant frame.
New Designo ML229/239/249 LED monitors offer stunning visual performance with IPS and VA-equipped panels* that make them highly suited to both productivity and entertainment. All three offer 178° of horizontal and vertical viewing angles that eliminate off-axis color shift to provide consistent visual enjoyment from every angle, making them ideal for shared viewing scenarios. All three also have a 50,000,000:1 ASUS Smart Contrast ratio to achieve true dark/light definition through backlight luminance adjustment. HDMI provides an optimized HD viewing experience in full 1080p (1920x1080 resolution) for PC, Blu-ray and gaming consoles.Designed with the environment in mind
As with all ASUS products, the Designo ML Series maintains strict green standards. The monitors use mercury-free LED-backlit panels and ship in cardboard packaging consisting of at least 80% recycled material. They are also highly energy efficient. Users can expect to save approximately 37.2KW/h** of energy while also reducing ultimate CO2 emissions by 23.6Kg a year, equivalent to planting 1.9 trees annually or two years' oxygen for a family of four. An innovative Eco-Mode further reduces energy consumption by 55%, allowing for lower electricity bills.
Award-winning design
The Designo ML Series combines style with practicality, featuring a sleek geometric design and a super-slim profile. The unique double ring stand enables easy tilt and swivel adjustments, while the glossy piano black-finished bezel sports LED touch buttons that present a clean and seamless appearance. The slim and elegant design of the Designo ML Series was recently recognized with the Japan-based Good Design Award for its contribution to quality living as a home décor centerpiece.

I've never owned an ASUS brand monitor, but I'm sure as with the other industries that ASUS has its toes dipped in, they're good quality.
It's probably never going to happen though.
