Razer Announces World's First Cloud-based Storage For Personalized Gaming Settings

Razer, the technology leader in gaming user interfaces, brings you the next innovation in gaming peripherals by unveiling the all-new Razer Synapse 2.0, the world's first application for storing your personalized peripheral settings in the cloud, making your settings for gaming available anytime, anywhere.

In 2006, Razer invented Synapse, the world's first onboard memory feature for gaming peripherals, which allowed the user to store gaming macros, key binds, and profiles directly to their Razer devices, and enabled gamers to bring their personalized settings with them on the go. Onboard memory for gaming devices, pioneered by Razer, has quickly become an industry standard for gaming peripherals all over the world.
The new Razer Synapse 2.0 software revolutionizes this concept by harnessing next-gen, cloud-based technology to ensure that you have full access to all of your peripheral hardware settings, anytime, anywhere at tournaments, LAN centers, at home and at the office. I am glad they are offering the service cause it shows me they are trying to be creative but I dont see this service as applicable to very many people

Steam already does this ! and seeing as 90% of my games are on steam thx to the steam sales

But it's not a bad idea for a company like this to try , but if your using someone else's computer wouldnt they still need to have Razer gear for this to work

This will be helpful to save your binds to a keyboard.

For instance, you have the G9 key bound to 50000 different actions at once. Because the internal memory of the keyboard can't store it you can load it from that. Therefore, you have to use the cloud. Might be useful if you bring your keyboard to other computers, however I don't really see a use for it other than that.

And yeah, Steam already does this for INDIVIDUAL KEY BINDS, not macros (actually in the source engine binds can be a combination of things, so you can do macros)

Just in case you're bringing your keyboard instead of your pc?

The real dogs at the top of rankings and ladders do not use "gaming" peripherals anyway. This is more consumer babble you can give your money for.
