VIA have been around forever. I guess you could argue that they once did compete in the mid range desktop market.

But if you can't wait until they next do so, you've a problem on your hands.

Moar Nano-itx please. But if this has a good price it could be interesting, IF they make it to the market here that is.

I used to use a lot of VIA's mini itx boards for various projects and low power stuff but once they and their parent company went all political and joined the patent trolling race I really just got put off and started using more of Intel's Atom and AMD's Fusion chips. In the first generation Atoms, the Nano was actually a faster chip but consumed more power to do so but as Atom has scaled up in clock speed, down in process node, and become more highly integrated it has become a better product overall. And AMD's fusion chips have been better from the get go, in the windows world the E350 is probably a better choice than any Atom, even those paired with Nvidia's ION graphics.

Kind of saddening how a company's politics can drive customers off... But then again, when competitors offer a better product at a similar or lower price, you can only support the underdog for so long.

I would have rather seen them drop the PCI and just put a full length PCI-E slot on there(even if it only ran at x1). The odd arrangement of the PCI-E slot now is just odd.

If they had left out that huge array of jumpers, they could have fitted both - only would the upper slot then collide with the ATX panel.
