EVGA Launches its GeForce GT 600 Series Products

EVGA launched its GeForce GT 600 portfolio, consisting of six models, four of which are based on the GeForce GT 610, and one each on the GeForce GT 620, and GeForce GT 630. The GeForce GT 630 packs 96 CUDA cores, 1 GB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 800 MHz (1.60 GHz GDDR3 effective) over a 128-bit wide memory interface, and a core clock speed of 810 MHz, with 1620 MHz CUDA core clock. The card utilizes a full-height PCB, with display outputs that include two DVI, and a mini-HDMI. Its single slot cooling solution uses a large, low-RPM fan.

The GeForce GT 620 is similar to the GT 630, including its board design and most of its specifications, but comes with lower clock speeds, at 700 MHz core, 1400 MHz CUDA cores, and 700 MHz (1.40 GHz GDDR3 effective) memory. Lastly, there are as many as four models based on the GeForce GT 610 chip, which are based on a half-height board, and a full-height one; with 1 GB of GDDR3 memory across a 64-bit wide memory interface that comes standard, and 2 GB variants of both. The full-height cards have two DVI and a mini-HDMI output, while the half-height ones have one each of DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub (analog). The GT 610 packs 48 CUDA cores, and clock speeds of 810/1620/1000 MHz (core/CUDA cores/memory effective).

Let's take a gander, shall we?

Radeon HD 4250 = Intel 3000 < Nvidia GTX 610 < Radeon HD 6450 = Radeon HD 6470 < Intel 4000 < GTX 620 < Radeon HD 6520 < Radeon HD 6550 < Radeon HD 6570 < Radeon HD 7660m (trinity A10) < GTX 630 < Radeon HD 6670 is what it looks like right now to me.

Heck a GT440 DDR3, which is what the GT 630 spec's make it out to be is two rungs below the 6570.

So you'll drop it down to like between... Radeon HD 6520M < GT630 < Radeon HD 6550M

While a 6670 DDR3 is 3-4 rungs greater, though a 6670 with DRR5 is almost 5 rung higher.

To even mention the 6670's in such conversation was a disservice to Nvidia. :D

You're talking about the effort we put forth to tell folks it's the same old... just renamed.

The only effort Nvidia did was in the etching a new number on the top, while stiffing the AIB in spending money print new boxes and scrap the old packaging.
