Sapphire Announces Ultimate X1950 Pro
Sapphire today announced the latest addition to its Ultimate Edition product lineup-the Sapphire Ultimate X1950 Pro. I wish the clowns at Sapphire would learn how to properly clone an ATI reference mobo so they'd have something to sell worth buying. Sapphire has a great production facility but little clue.
1. what are the chances of the x1950 Agp version of this being made
2. Would i see an improvement in games such as bf2/2142 and fear over a X850xtpe
<<<<-- Rest of system specs here
Poor X1950PRO owners like me have still have yet to get our hands on a version of ATITool that can clock the memory. But I betcha the memory on that card won't go much past 800mhz if it uses the same chips as the standard 256mb X1950PRO.
Stupid overdrive autodetect clocks pushes mem right up to 790 and the screen is already garbage at 760 . 621/700 is fine for messing with 3dmark, but for games i have to stick to defaults (580/700)it seems .
@All - wow a 5Mhz overclock (580 vs 575 stock). I wonder how they managed that feat of engineering [/sarcasm].
Sapphire x1950 pro 256mb >>>>Stokcooler || 575mhz core //1340mhz memoriy --- máx OC memory 1450mhz
Sapphire x1950 pro Ultimate 256mb >> Zalman VF900-CU|| 580mhz core//1600mhz default memory --- max OC memory ????

I'm hoping that if these don't unlock, the R600 core will follow the same trend as the X1800 cards. My GTO sticker literally covers up an old XL sticker. My guess is they couldnt get rid of the XL's like they wanted to so they cut prices and brought the card down in spec just a tad even though it was more than capable of performing at XL specs.
Whats the most anyone has gotten out of this thing with overclocking? Can you control the voltage via ATI Tool?
edit:just visted sapphires website, guess it is only 256mb. So, you're paying a little more for a nicer cooler and a factory overclock, not so bad.
