Palit GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 GameRock Graphics Cards Up-close

Here's Palit's NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080/GTX 1070 GameRock graphics card, pictured up-close. Palit is using a common board design for both its GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 SKUs (with SKU-specific changes on the PCB). The GameRock graphics card is characterized by a minor factory-overclock, and a design-focus on RGB LED lighting that lines the card's cooling solution. The card features a reasonably meaty triple-slot, dual-fan cooling solution, lined with LEDs along the fans, top and sides. You can configure the LED lighting with the included software.

Nice, it has a 6 + 8 pin for power, and a dual BIOS switch.

Yes, some people might like this feature and some people like me may not, but the thing is that right now its getting to the point where it is forced on the consumer and i have to pay the premium for it even if i'm not interested in this feature.

Is that an actual case you can buy, the clear perspex one, or just a display thing?

GameRock - for the full 4K60 Guitar Hero / Singstar experience.

I'm sorry I just can't take all of this seriously :) I must be getting old.

Looks like a sweet card. A single strip of light wouldn't put me off personally . I think it looks pretty good.

Why is it a plague? The price increase for including it is probably minimal, and you can turn it off (i think?)

It was not minimal at my local retailers which removed the non-RGB versions of the Corsair K70 and Logitech G502 and put up RGB versions and hiked the prices by about 25%.

Wanna install that in a Linux box and then see if you can find working software for controlling the LEDs?

I thought the "Game Rock" said "Harry Potter" when I flew past the thumbnail. I will forever call this card the "Harry Potter Edition".

Single slot liquid cooled card please, I don't mind if the DVI goes missing.
