NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Goes On Sale

NVIDIA's more economically significant graphics card based on the "Pascal" architecture, the GeForce GTX 1070, goes on sale from today (10/06). The card starts at US $379, with NVIDIA selling the reference-design board for a $70 premium, as the GTX 1070 Founders Edition, priced at $449. With NVIDIA claiming performance levels higher than the previous-generation $999 GeForce GTX Titan X, the GTX 1070 could prove to be the gateway to 4K Ultra HD gaming with reasonably high eye-candy.

Based on the 16 nm "GP104" silicon, the GeForce GTX 1070 features 1,920 CUDA cores, 120 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 256-bit GDDR5 memory interface, holding 8 GB of memory. The core ticks at 1506 MHz, with a GPU Boost frequency of 1683 MHz, while the memory runs at 2000 MHz (actual), 8 GHz (GDDR5-effective), yielding a memory bandwidth of 256 GB/s. Display outputs include three DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.0b, and a dual-link DVI-D.

Yeah well thats old gen vs new gen which is all kinds of F'd up.
In general the Fury (X) was placed well here, about 700 for it while 850 for the 980Ti

I don't care what gen they are, as it stands relative price of the 1070 they are overpriced and slower.

Well you should care if you are trying to make a point about it...
old gen vs new gen is all f'd up and it always is, your are not saying anything new there.

Its the same for the GTX980Ti vs the GTX1080 etc etc etc as always.

I'm still playing all my games most without AA on my laptop with GTX770M, I'm playing GTA V high/very high settings mostly at a locked 40fps, not bad for a laptop.
I think the GTX950 is comparable with my GTX770M.

Waiting for my MSI GTX1070 Gaming X to arrive for my desktop :D, currently on shitty HD530 graphics :p

New leaks look promising, with 980+ perf for 480 (at stock?).

AMD teases tomorrows presentation ("do not miss"). 6:30pm GMT on 13th of June.
TheinsanegamerNI never said the 280 was more expensive because it was a rebadge, I said the only reason the 280 was that cheap was because it was a rebadge of a 2 year old $450 GPU.
280 was "cheap" at 279$, because it was a re-badge.
Now 480 is "expensive' at 199$, because it's a new process/architecture.

Mind blown trying to make sense off it.

They only reason Fury X was not that good was that 980Ti was released to spoil it.
Oh, and at stock it was still faster at 1440p+.

It wasn't that long ago people were trying to justify the $650 Nano too, and we all know how that niche dream went.

The card is aggressively priced and that's great.

The one's who are buying GTX 1070 most likely will have a 1080p monitor. perhaps a 1440p :)

it wasn't long ago they also claimed 30% performance advantage over a 980ti.

1070 seems good for ppl with 1080p, that are thinkin of a 1440p monitor.

Hmm, Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! has dual 8 pin power, would it even use it considering 2-2.1Ghz max clock on other custom cards or are they cooking something up (literally?)

No doubt it's got buried in the fact Fury X was an overclocker's dream.

Kinda hard to Bury a claim when they claimed on the Fury X reveal. Anyone that watched it knows that they claimed it.

I honestly have no idea how that got there. That's slightly worrying.
Must be an extension, either HoverHound or Honey perhaps. I'll look in to it.

Edit: It's too late for me to edit that post. Sorry. =/
