AMD RTG Hires Hardware.fr GPU Editor Damien Triolet

Hardware.fr, part of the global network of tech-oriented sites that strive to bring you the latest and greatest coverage of hardware and related news, has announced that their GPU contributor Damien Triolet is leaving the site. Damien Triolet has been described by our very own W1zzard as one of the world's best GPU tech editors, and leaves the French hardware site after a 14-year-long stint delivering high-quality coverage to French readers.

The folks at Hardware.fr naturally wished Damien all the best, though they do know it will be hard to properly replace him, due to all the years of accumulated knowledge. But that must've been what caught AMD's Radeon Technologies Group's eye as well, which resulted in this hire. Damien commented that "This change, however, is a continuation for me, since after so many years of criticizing the GPU manufacturers, I will finally go and see what exactly happens on the other side of the fence, and discover first-hand what future graphics technologies hold for us. (...) After a long reflection I made the decision to join AMD and the Radeon Technologies Group." (translated from French by the editor.) We here at TPU wish Damien all the best!

In B 4 "OMG, AMD is in so much trouble if they do this one thing".

I seriously think some could write for buzzfeed.

So he left his old job for a new job he doesn't know what it's about? Nice.

AMD hired Scott Wasson before in a similar move, and he's doing product marketing now. Who better to deal with the press than an ex-press member? I am sure Damien already knows, but probably does not want to say anything yet till it is confirmed.

I bet you know he discovered the value in, "4 is 4" marketing if you know what I mean... Mr. Scott Wasson was merely citing him.

You don't need to stop a top reviewer from doing their job for that. Any guy involved with the press will do. I'm just hoping they're not using his name for publicity, cause that would be a terrible waste.

None of the guys did beat him to it. Without him, AMD lacked a punchline.

Look on the bright side, he could have been there for a stunted stint, but 14 years is long time. Lets hope he's not stunted at AMD. :D:D:p:D:D

i take he'll work at the technical marketing, like the another ex-journalists amd hired already. with other words: he'll keep explaining amd products and technology to his former buddies.

Not many people notice, but RTG people at Intel are pretty much pulling entire PR and engineer teams from AMD. Every week pretty much i see another key figure at Intel
