Thrustmaster's New T.Flight U.S. Air Force Edition Gaming Headset Available Soon

Continuing its #SummerOfFlight, Thrustmaster today announced that its new T.Flight U.S. Air Force Edition Gaming Headset will be available for pre-order on August 16th prior to its official release this fall on October 31. A great end to the summer is guaranteed for flight simmers!

Currently on display at the Thrustmaster Gaming Hangar B in booth 2162 at the EAA AirVenture 2018 in Oshkosh WI, the new headset meets the exacting standards needed to carry the official license of the United States Air Force, one of the most respected military air wings in modern aviation history. Including its tremendous design, the headset itself introduces several outstanding features to the high-quality fidelity and components that come from over 25 years of audio experience. These features make the T.Flight U.S. Air Force Edition Gaming Headset an ideal solution for flight sims, aerial combat games, esports and multiplayer games.
The Gold Standard
Working with the United States Air Force, Thrustmaster created an advanced headset able to meet the rigorous protocol needed to secure their official license. For this elite organization, performance is key and Thrustmaster achieves crystal-clear audio fidelity through the use of 50mm analytic drivers with stable frequency response curve. The result is perfectly balanced bass, mid-range and treble with distortion reduced to less than 1% (e.g. sound pressure level is settled at 116±3dBSPL at 1mW).

Classic Design & Superior Comfort
The T.Flight U.S. Air Force Edition Gaming Headset is a massive departure from every current gaming headset on the market as it is inspired of real-world pilot headsets. The frame is constructed of visible metal while the 1-inch ear cushions are ultra-soft with an integrated gel layer, making them perfect for long gaming sessions. It all adds up to the classic look and feel of the actual headsets used by today's pilots.
Fingertip Control
Another unique feature that replicates modern pilot headsets, the T.Flight U.S. Air Force Edition Gaming Headset features an external volume control knob on the outside of the ear cup so users can fine-tune their volume in an immersive way. An in-line mic controller with volume and mute controls seamlessly handles the unidirectional microphone. Signal-to-noise ratio is down to 56dB for a clear sound that excludes ambient noise pollution.

Customized Performance
Emblazoned with the logo of the US Air Force artworks on interchangeable faceplates, the T.Flight US Air Force Gaming Headset allows gamers to customize their look.

Pricing
The T.Flight U.S. Air Force Edition gaming headset has a suggested retail price of £89.99 (taxes included)

Fighter pilots wear helmets with build in headset, cargo plane or other similar aircraft pilots wear similar headphones, only that they don't have USB ports, or PS4/XBOX/PC onboard their aircraft, or do they ? :)

Fierce Guppy
Airforce comms sound tinny with a click pssssshhhh between every sentence.

(click psssssshhhh) Into the distance a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back (pssssshhhh click)
(click pssssshhhhh) A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled (pssssshhhh click)

Is this the case, sir?

Sound-powered comms aren't uhf/vhf, it is a super-low voltage comm sys that is powered by the operator's voice via transducer. Literally a step up from 2 cans connected with string, and yes it was aw awful to use as you are imagining.

What ship/boat were you on? About being wrong not being RF, and not using any power is kind of the point of having them not sure what would be classified about wwii era tech outside of specific voltages/frequencies/circuit diagrams everything else can be found with a simple google search. If you'd like to continue this shoot a PM lest others gripe about being off-topic.
