G84 expected to score 4500 in 3Dmark06

NVIDIA's G84, which will be known as the Geforce 8600 series, should score roughly 4500 points in the powerful benchmarking tool 3Dmark06. The G84 is expected to go into production sometime in March or April, and was designed to beat ATI to the sub-$200 DirectX10 market. The G84 should also have a smaller die than the competition from ATI. G84 will be completely compatible with Windows Vista when it is released, including a WHQL Vista driver.

what's the 4500 of ? 8600GT or Ultra, i think GT cuz it has damn less clock speeds than Ultra, such as in 7600gt and 7900gs.

I wonder how cool this mid range card is?? Not sure if this is a good alternative to DX10 gaming...

yea, i get close to 4800 with a 7900gt... if those benchies for the g84 are accurate, theres no real point in upgrading. specially since there are no dx10 games.....

tigger, those are some pretty impressive o/c's you got going on there. i wish i could overclock my cpu and gfx card, but my mobo has zelch oc options and my gfx card can't take more than a 5mhz overclock.. boo

this gfx card is a cheapass palit one,but it goes from 450 to 600 core and from 13xx to 1600 mem.

the cpu is the same,EASILY from 1.8 to 3.5ghz.sometimes it pays to buy the lower priced stuff i guess,or i could just be lucky.

4500? I don't know if the G84 is a cheap GPU. If so, that's a good score for a $100 card. My 7900 GX2 w/ AMD 4400+ gets a score of 7600 on 3Dmark 06.

im not gonna take it serously just yet, but if it is true i might go with a radeonx1950 or geforce 7950 instead of mid-range dx10 cards.
