Cisco Extends Apple's Response deadline until Wednesday

The two companies previously agreed the deadline was on Thursday, but on Thursday evening( the 15th of Febuary ) Cisco extended the deadline nearly another week. I see this as an interesting strategy, Cisco seems to be aiming at at achieving a settlement here.

"Cisco, whose Linksys division began shipping a line of iPhones last spring, has said it would allow Apple to use the trademarked name but wants both companies' phones to be able to communicate with each other. It has not provided details of such interoperability.

Apple has called the lawsuit "silly" and argued that it's entitled to use the iPhone name because the phones operate over different networks. Apple's works using cellular technology, and Cisco's operates over the Internet using a technology called Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP.

Cisco has owned the trademark since 2000, when it acquired InfoGear Technology Corp., which originally registered the name."

Seems like a small request from Cisco and apple should reply favorably.

Completely Bonkers
I'm going to start up a company called Apple and build a device called the iPhone. I'm going to sell it as the Apple iPhone. And it works using a piece of string and two paper cups.

And Apple can go suck lemons. My device and brandname operates on a different network. :nutkick:

I hate Apple anyhow. This just lowers them another peg in my pole of pegs, which puts them below ground a few miles. It honestly can't be that difficult of a request to comply with.
