CHERRY Introduces the New STREAM Keyboard

Cherry introduces the new STREAM keyboard, the perfect workhorse for professional work environments. With the many satisfied users of the original STREAM in mind, Cherry has upgraded the keyboard with extended functionality, a modern look, and

CHERRY has equipped the STREAM KEYBOARD with its own proven SX scissor technology, giving the keyboard a comfortable typing feel and uncompromising precision. During development, special attention was paid to the typing sound; compared to the previous model - which was already very quiet - the noise level has been reduced even further. This makes the STREAM KEYBOARD the best choice for open-plan offices with numerous workstations, where employee productivity benefits from a low-noise environment.
Robust, everyday companion for demanding power users
In modern office environments, keyboards and mice have become indispensable everyday companions, being exposed to continuous stress for hours on end. It's therefore vital that these peripherals combine outstanding functionality with an appealing design. The STREAM KEYBOARD sets the standard: CHERRY has combined a conventional yet elegant and minimalistic look with a slim profile, resulting in a visually attractive keyboard for the modern desktop.

Outstanding ergonomics and high durability
Design was not the only focus of the STREAM KEYBOARD: a metal backplate guarantees torsional rigidity, stability, and a firm stand on the desk. Eight rubber pads on the bottom of the keyboard prevent it from slipping, even when the feet are folded out. The STREAM KEYBOARD also features convincing ergonomics: its flat design and adjustable tilt enable fatigue-free and ergonomic operation. This combination of comfort and robustness makes the STREAM KEYBOARD an extremely durable input device and thus an ideal component of a sustainable office equipment. The long service life of this keyboard is also beneficial to the environment.

Highest build quality and ease-of-use
As always, CHERRY relies on high-quality materials that are able to withstand the stress of office use over a long period of time. The key lettering in the stylish and easy-to-read CHERRY font also withstands intensive use. The STREAM KEYBOARD offers ten additional hotkeys to open useful applications like the browser, e-mail client, and calculator, or to aid in common office tasks and control multimedia functions. It's also possible to lock the computer with a hotkey; this security aspect is particularly useful to office users as it makes it much easier to log off before leaving the workplace.

CHERRY has integrated red LEDs directly into the CapsLock, NumLock and ScrollLock buttons to indicate their current status. The CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD connects directly to the PC via USB. There are no drivers required to use this keyboard as it's Plug&Play compatible.

"Blue Angel" And "Tested Safety" certified
Compliance with quality and environmental guidelines is very important to CHERRY, especially for products to be used in the workspace. The STREAM KEYBOARD carries the GS seal ("Tested Safety"), fulfilling the European requirements and regulations for the protection of safety and health, and the "Blue Angel" certification guarantees that this keyboard is recognized as an environmentally friendly and sustainable product. This new version of the classic CHERRY STREAM sets a new standard for those looking for a reliable keyboard in the office or at home.

The CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD is available from October 2019 in pale grey and black at a recommended retail price of £23.99 / €29.99.

Imho, a wrist rest is not a must for a slim keyboard. But I would have liked this to be illuminated. Lighting is not a must for an office, but slim+mechanical+lights=my dream keyboard ;)

I think the Sharkoon PureWriter RGB is what you are looking for. I have the one with Kailh Red keys. The only minor nitpick is that the illumination is not good on key that have secondary function, because is further away from the led.

I'm not sure, I tried a Havit keyboard with Kailh switches and it just seemed flimsy. But that's not necessarily the switches' fault.

Edit: But yes, something like that.

Well I have a couch pc. Can't set in a chair for very long anymore without discomfort. So I take the back cushions off the couch, put pillows behind me, keyboard in lap(need wrist rest for that), and a metal mouse pad beside me. But my situation is not applicable to many people. (I hope)
I will keep gaming anyway I can.
