Another Alcatel-Lucent vs. Microsoft lawsuit dismissed

Seattle- A US federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against Microsoft by Alcatel-Lucent, alleging that Microsoft infringed on Alcatel-Lucent's patents on speech to text technology.

This ruling comes one week after a jury awarded Alcatel-Lucent $1.52 billion in a seperate lawsuit, the largest ever in a US patent case. Microsoft plans to appeal that ruling.

alcatel is more a multinational development house with branches in the main tech centers in Europe north America and Asia so its not a France is mad at microsuck vendetta type thing lol. and i would not be the least bit surprised if ms did in fact base or even partially copy some of their technology. acatel owns bell and others that are less renown and have their fingers in pretty much everything

It doesn't matter how you look at it... 1 billion USD is still a lot for a big company like MS. Seriously though, people need to get off of the "sue MS for free money" bandwagon as it's getting old FAST. Hopefully Alcatel-Lucent loses this case, as well as getting the other court descision overturned.

lol bill gates, craps billions about every week i think he can afford it lol. last i checked he is worth like 40 billion or something. thats almost a billion for every week in the year. atleast he shares his money with charitys. that reminds me, a while back when he was in our town my cousin and her husband got to dump a trashbag full of confeti on him, their stage hands they where up in the scafolding hehe suprise billy boy.
