Just tried to install the DCH version and Nvidia is forcing me to install the bloatware called GeForce Experience! Usually there is an option to uncheck this buy its grey out. I'm skipping this release because I don't want this nagging spying bloatware on my PC.

Where have you been living? Nvidia has forced GFE for years and there has NEVER been and option NOT to install this. That is why i linked TPU's own NV Clean Install.

Ehm, Im not using GFE for very long time now. Even regular Game Ready Drivers have option to not install GFE. Or at least had, unsure about current one, but Im using studio driver anyway.

Earth but not sure which planet you are on! The option to not install GFE has been there for several release but it is now grey out for me. It was forced on us a few years back but then they allowed the checkbox to be unticked - seems you never tried it.

Timespy went up about 200 points, it's something.

I'll try some actual gaming perhaps later.

Actually you can avoid the DCH version by going in "Beta and Older Drivers" in the Advanced Driver Search www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us, then you select the Standard version so you don't have to download the NVIDIA Control Panel from the Microsoft Store and you have the default one from the driver. You download the last one then at the setup you pick the one without GeForce Experience :

Choose custom if you want to remove PhysX & HD Audio for whatever reason, you can see GeForce Experience is not picked by default.

Install your drivers, profits.

If you want to remove the telemetry there is a program called "Autoruns" that let you remove or prevent dlls at start : docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns
You can see I want to use GeForce Experience, I removed some telemetry but not everything, for example if NvBatteryBoostCheck is not set to start, GeForce Experience doesn't work. At least it didn't work when I did prevent it to start in the past.

Great tip! Thank you. But I want DCH without GFE?

Hmmmmm, Now I am very tempted to update to 2004 Win10.

But then I have to install WSL2 and redo all of my terminal settings as well as all of my security keys. God damn it.

I just downloaded 451.48-desktop-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe from the advanced search and it's the same installer, pick the install without GFE, choose Custom if you want to remove HD Audio & PhysX too, GFE will not be picked by default.

I will give it a try, had to force the update with the Windows 10 Upgrade tool from MS. In a reboot the nightmare (I hope not but hey) will start :D

"Pilote graphique" :roll: not that "driver"sounds any less funny if you think about it but I hadn't seen it in French? before.
Btw totally agree with your points.
