Announcing skyBOX, a Credit Card-sized 4TB Wireless SSD with 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6

skyBOX, the all-in-one, portable SSD storage with built-in Wi-Fi 6 technology and universal compatibility, ensures effortless streaming and backup of photos, videos, and music files from and to any mobile devices, cameras or drones. It is a must-have for photographers/videographers/content creators who travel light without laptops.

skyBOX is just about the size of a credit card. It will fit in a pocket or bag easily so that it is easy to back up devices anywhere. Backing up the internal storage of a device or an SD card only takes one touch and a minute, thanks to the Wi-Fi 6 technology and extreme transfer speed up to 2200 MB/s. Wi-Fi 6 can transfer 40% faster than current Wi-Fi 5. Internal SSD is available from 512 GB to 4 TB as options.
Besides being an excellent backup, skyBOX allows seamless wireless streaming to multiple devices. With additional access through its own skyBOX App and other third-party apps, users can browse, stream, edit, and share the files with mobiles, iPads or laptops anywhere. Lastly, the optional SkyCloud Dock can convert skyBOX into a personal cloud just by plugging it in. Users can leave skyBOX at home and still access the files when on the go. Users will find skyBOX to be the smallest and fastest wireless drive.

skyBOX is available for pre-order on Indiegogo now starting from $99 (50% off MSRP) for the 512 GB pack to a $479 4 TB pack that includes a skyBOX Pro and a SkyCloud Dock.

Shouldn't there be a note/disclaimer somewhere about the advertised transfer speeds only being attainable when connected to other AX/Wi-Fi 6- enabled devices ????

As in "only as fast as the slowest device in the chain"

That's implied, no need to make a fuss about it. That way they can charge bigger price to unsuspecting customers (and laymen obviously).

Mbps, and I'm pretty sure over WiFi, assuming you have a WiFi 6 adapter such as AX200/AX201.

The image does have "MB/s" next to 2200, so it is not megabits, but megabytes. That being said, WiFi 6 isn't even near getting that speed, so it's false advertising. The drive itself might be capable of it, but the fact that it's limited to WiFi 6 speeds means the product itself isn't capable of it.

Looks like there's a dock with an Ethernet port if you need that, though the 2,200MB/s speed they quote (and they do keep quoting is as MB/s) can only be over USB.

Their Indigogo page shows it should have a USB-C port on it - the press pictures don't do a good job showing that off.

On WiFi 6 it may be limited (to ~307 MBps) but through USB it should be 2200 MBps.
