No 1 Gigabyte GDDR4 cards at the R600 launch

Fudzilla is reporting ATI/AMD might have considerable problems with it's fastest R600 variant. The reason behind is unknown, they are now focusing on the 512 MB DDR3 version and this one will be available at the release sometime in May this year.

Not only is the card late, now it isn't as godly as the rumors first stated it as. This totally blows. :slap:

The difference between the 8800's just got smaller :toast:

Well thats still plenty enough. I dont mind waiting for the 1GB version with them release a 512mb version. Should still be plenty fast enough to spar with Nvidias 8800 GTX

Since they have delayed this a lot, it better be much better than the 8800GTX or else ATI is in trouble and will prob. lose a good portion of customers.

Your all forgetting that we're not nearly the majority market. Its all about the mainstream. All that the 8800gtx and x2900 represent is high-end user bragging rights. With that off my chest, i personally pay more attention to the highend then the mainstream :P

all this dilly dallying by AMD is just making me put my upgrading on hold, it wouldnt surprise me f Nvidia put back the release dates for the 8900 cards just so they can keep AMD guessing until they show their hand.

They said the 512 version will be out in early May with ddr3 and the 1GB ddr4 versions will have samples out than but will be avalible for the coustomer in mid May!

Not to bad hopfully using ddr3 on the 512 cards will drop the price of the card a bit... :) I want the best card but I wont be able to afford it lol.
