1. 5-5-5-12 is not "Extreme Performance", at least not at 800MHz.

2. I wouldn't buy anything called "Patriot"... it just sounds so American (no offence).

I would, because its made in America and its damn fine quality. 5-5-5-12 is probably the rated specs. We all know we can go much lower with latencies. However, the real memory gain is in MHZ, not latencies.

What are you talking about. Generally speaking, a 4-4-4 800Mhz memory is going to clock further then a 5-5-5 800Mhz memory. Depends on the memory chips built into it, but regardless that IS the rule of thumb.

Regardless, 5-5-5 timings are not extreme performance. Not even really "good", its just par. I'm sure these are designed for a voltage bump and will run 940+ Mhz like everything else does.

<3 Patriot. They're a good company.

I just love how my RAM is rated for PC4200 at 3-4-4-8 timings...but itll do PC4800+ at 2.5-3-3-7. By the way...its labeled as PC3200.

Remember that the more memory you put into a stick of RAM, the looser the timings will be.
We saw that going from 512mb to 1GB and now from 1GB to 2GB sticks.

The timings will not be as tight bc they cant be.
Its just the rule of thumb.
