QNAP Launches QMiro-201W & QMiroPlus-201W Next-Gen Tri-band Mesh Wi-Fi SD-WAN Routers
QNAP Systems, Inc. (QNAP), a leading computing, networking, and storage solution innovator, today released the QMiro-201W and the QMiroPlus-201W. Both routers provide a Home Cloud and Tri-band Mesh Wi-Fi SD-WAN solution to empower high-coverage Mesh Wi-Fi and storage applications. With QuWAN SD-WAN cloud deployment, Zero Trust security, and a home cloud solution, the QMiro Series enables simple and secure home Wi-Fi, cloud storage with remote networking applications.
"As QNAP's first Mesh Wi-Fi router series, the QMiro-201W and QMiroPlus-201W provide both stable Mesh Wi-Fi in homes and an SD-WAN VPN connection for remote workers", said Frank Liao, Product Manager of QNAP, adding "With the Home Cloud 2.0 solution, QMiroPlus-201W both greatly simplifies home private cloud deployment to offer a user-friendly experience for home users and also provides remote workers with efficient access between company, home and public clouds."The QMiro-201W and QMiroPlus-201W support tri-band Wi-Fi 5 wireless transmission and Mesh Wi-Fi handover, ensuring stable Wi-Fi connections and greater signal quality via a Mesh Wi-Fi network. The QMiroPlus-201W also includes two 2.5-inch SATA drive bays to provide an integrated Mesh Wi-Fi Router and NAS solution for deploying a secure Home Cloud. The Home Cloud 2.0 solution provides a user-friendly interface and various apps (including QuMagie, File Station, PLEX, and QUSBCam2) for users to enjoy a simplified cloud experience. Along with Qsync, Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS) and HybridMount, users can easily enjoy data syncing, backup or a public cloud storage solution. The smart home cloud network deployment is made even easier with QNAP's exclusive QuRouter mobile app, where the device connection status, network traffic, wireless users, and other information is always at the user's fingertips.
By utilizing the QMiro-201W and QMiroPlus-201W's built-in QuWAN SD-WAN solution to set up secure Mesh VPN tunnels with various QNAP devices (including NAS, QGD switches, and QHora routers), remote workers can not only enjoy smooth online meetings and data/voice transmission, but also mount storage from their company's NAS to their QMiroPlus-201W for quick and convenient access to important files. The QMiro-201W and QMiroPlus-201W follow the Zero Trust security concept which enhances access security between enterprise VPN and edge connections for remote working. With enterprise-level VAP (Virtual AP), IT staff can configure up to four exclusive SSID groups for different departments or application services. Wi-Fi encryption ensures that users can enjoy high-speed wireless transmission with the utmost security. QMiro-201W and QMiroPlus-201W also support Parental Controls to protect kids from inappropriate content. SD-WAN also provides IPsec encryption VPN and Deep Packet Inspection to ensure the security of VPN network transmission.
Built for modern homes, the stylish morandi-grey QMiro-201W and QMiroPlus-201W feature a low-noise design to ensure cool, stable, and quiet operations even when under heavy load. Users can flexibly purchase one QMiroPlus-201W and multiple QMiro-201W Mesh Wi-Fi routers to build a complete home Wi-Fi environment and enjoy a high-coverage Mesh Wi-Fi experience.
Note: Up to four QMiroPlus-201W smart routers and QMiro-201W Mesh Wi-Fi routers (1 Router + 3 Satellites) can be deployed in one site.

3 Comments on QNAP Launches QMiro-201W & QMiroPlus-201W Next-Gen Tri-band Mesh Wi-Fi SD-WAN Routers
EDIT: I just realized their website doesn't seem to obviously state that anywhere. I'm going off of their launch video. If it was actually a stream, then they weren't using the format correctly (IMO).

EDIT3:
I will admit, I was briefly considering running my own WiFi6 AP in a similar setup, via my QNAP + an Intel WiFi AX210. Then I learned Intel WiFi cards don't IR on 5GHz and dropped the idea. Maybe still viable as a 2.4GHz WiFi AP, but I've since installed a 2.5Gbe card in the only PCIe slot on my QNAP, so it's probably not going to happen.
