GTA 6 Not Before 2025, Reimagines Vice City

Don't hold your breath for Grand Theft Auto 6, as the game won't be out before 2025, reports Tom Henderson. Timelines for development of the next GTA was pushed this far back possibly because the extensive amount of voice-over and motion-capture work that goes into the game, and playtesting the game, probably aren't easy in the wake of travel restrictions. The Cyberpunk 2077 launch, which was disastrous form a quality-assurance standpoint, possibly spooked Rockstar, which wants to take its own sweet time getting GTA 6 right.

A third factor could be the increased scrutiny from gamers on studios that crunch (overwork their employees to meet release dates), Rockstar was accused of crunching during the development of Red Dead Redemption 2. In related news, GTA 6 will reportedly be based around a modern-day rendition of Vice City, from the title that springboarded GTA to the top of the open-world action adventure genre. It is also rumored to have Fortnite-like evolving maps, which gives players the feel of a world that changes with time like a city in real life, would (new infrastructure and businesses).

lexluthermiesterWhile it's been going strong for 8 years, it's also getting long in the tooth.
Just like how Halo Custom Edition (haloce.exe) (DirectX 9) is going strong today! Last official patch, so far, looks like 2014, for 1.0.10.

Rockstar used to be a good company in the PS2 era, one year gap between 3 and VC, two gear gap between VC and SA, dropped games like Bully, Manhunt, Warriors, May Payne etc. This will mark a 13 year wait between 5 and 6. They're so far up their own backsides these days, even Red Dead 2 seemed to massively divide opinion.

ZoneDymoit was great but personally I thought San Andreas was a massive step up, Vice City's car control and the fact that you still could not swim, again great but not as great as San Andreas.
SA is a good one, massive city, more cars and activities, but I can't stand the horrible gun sound fx. It's said to be one of the worst gun sound fx in game history.

I personally didn't struggle with any controls, most complain about the helicopter, but I loved that too, a person just had to take the time to set up the controls correctly. For my Helicopters I used my WASD in combination with 8456 on the number pad, (up arrow, down arrow, left arrow, right arrow) then to fire, spacebar, this allows you to feel centered while kicking ass and making megabucks, I was good with the helicopter, I could go from a 5 star wanted level to none under a minute with ease, snatching the badges in hard to reach places without even having to leave the helicopter.

Anyways my controls setup made me rather good, that when Battlefield Bad company 2 released, the heli's were child's play to adopt, as I just had to bring that experience over. Everyone wanted me as the pilot, I just got annoyed as they couldn't hit shit while I was avoiding everything. lol

I think the big problem for people, is that they didn't understand, to make the helicopter fly as you should, you need 8 buttons to master the collective pitch control, throttle control, antitorque control, and cyclic pitch control.

Anyways, rambling over, signing off, for now... :P

Its still the mot profitable entertainment product ever released, and you can still find GTA V in the top 10 sales charts today, people are still buying the game and i believe its over 140 million copies sold, Rocktar's decision to delay their next GTA is understandable cause people STILL play the game a lot

Aside from the sub machine guns, i found the gun sounds to be ok.

The MP5 and MAC-10 in that game sounds weird
UpgrayeddGta4 was the best gta. Easily. Hands down. No argument. Sure performance on PC wasn't the best at first but it's fine now.
Its has a dead, depressing atmosphere to it, it feels and looks lifeless, but i do like the game play and physics in that game overall

GhostRyder(Not saying they should cram the market, but jeez I would expect maybe a game every other year or 3 years at least).
Get real! GTAV and RDR2 combined, Rockstar spent almost 1 billion dollars in development and marketing. Modern games can take millions of man hours to make. This aint 2003.

I mean sure they spent alot, but the fact is the game GTA 5 is ancient at this point. I also was not saying they should release a new GTA every 3 years, but one of their games from their franchises every so often would be nice. The fact we are waiting over 10 years and they can keep porting a game 3 times says their focus is somewhere else.

On top of that, technology keeps moving forward. So they keep having to port/redo some of their work each generation they miss. They released only one game on the Xbox (At least new and AAA) One and PS4 over the consoles lifespan, thats pretty ridiculous considering how big the company is and the past releases.

Have to agree here. GTA4 was dingy and grim. The colour scheme they used needed to be far more vibrant.

Yea I agree, but I thought that was the point as it was supposed to be a dark depressing city versus GTA 5 that was supposed to be a vibrant colorful town

I loved the map\roads and cars but the story sucked and that dam phone ringing all the time. With GTA5 you have a near flat roads and cars can be adjusted in mid air BS but the story was far so much better.

As for GTA6 haha well who didn't know it would be at least 2025 or later anyways, they making tons of money with what they have now and they will need to get all the crap in for the multiplayer too which will take them years.

Reminds me of Perfect Dark, (Nintendo 64) where it had what I considered the worst gun sound effects in game history. Even when not all of the effects were bad, but the ricochets sure were bad, (inaccurate) sounded more like lasers or alien weapons from another constellation! Goldeneye (Nintendo 64) was the one that had the very good gun sound effects.

Niko my cousin, lets go bowling!

For the record, I did like some of the ideas of that system (Having the freedom to date, make better friends that help you, etc). However, it was set way to aggressive.

I thought we would get at least 1 GTA per console cycle personally.

Eh, well it was like a year apart I believe. Personally even with the visual updates it still looked like a late PS3/360 game even to this day without using some of the mods. But I will give you it was pretty clear they wanted it to be on the later system especially with the new features and stuff.
