These price cuts are kickass!!! People can get awesome dual cores at awesome prices :D Seems that 'market' winner are these AMD procs. :D
But Extreme performance market is 'still' owned by Core 2 (note: NOT the P4's, PD's LOL)

Faulty socket 775 mounting design

Just wanna say :775 mounting always bend the mother a little or a bit ,with that "bending" ,i think the motherboard useful life will be shorter than normal ,Go 775 go for after market HSF with backplate for good thing :toast:

Not any E4300 can get up to 4,75GHz. People are often limited by their motherboards or maybe "a bad batch".

Look at xtreme-systems, those guys put way more money into their systems and the average user and still can't hit 4GHz sometimes...

Intel fanboys, pff...

And I am not an Intel Fanboy, nor AMD. I'll get a E4300 on the next pricecut. To UNDERVOLT it :D

outside of a few stray prices, these cuts seem consistent with most of the AMD processors available through newegg.

Those are some nice prices, I wonder whats a good processor to last a few years though. Considering they keep adding more and more cores. 8 cores next year from what I heard.

Well there goes the resale value of my Opty 170... At least she's doing well enough to keep around for a while.

I might as well get myself an AMD proccie. Man this 'price cut war" is getting stupid, I reckon Core 2 Extreme in like a quater of a years time will be cheaper than the Celeron D

I love this. Now, when I migrate to AM2, it wont kill me. Mobos should be coming down in price too. Now if only the memory was cheaper.
