I'd say 699.99(retail) for a R6--XTX is a safe bet.

I was reading up on some of the R6XX series cards and they have some pretty respectable priced cards coming out. X2300XT for me!

Shame those prices will be higher in the UK. £100 for the second best ATI card when it's launched would be nice, but we get ripped off because of our taxes. :shadedshu

Complete rubbish! What are these guys talking about? The top model cards or the mediocre ones, what memory and how much of it or is this website referring to the prices of the GPUs alone (which is what it reads to me)? To make myself clear, I don't expect the R600 GDDR3 to be as cheap as 500 $ - this card will cost more, especially during the first weeks. Expect a nice price premium added to this for the GDDR4 cards, if you can get any...
To be honest, such news posts drive me nuts! Couldn't the writer at least write a little bit about what he personally thinks about the figures? It's not a press release... Sorry mate, but next time please explain your finding a bit for our dear readers...

I think we've all seen enough R600 rumors, let's all agree that we'll try to keep them to a minimum :).

You're worried about an X1950? Look at my X850 :p. I'll prolly get payments for it (if I sell it) in penny-rolls lol.

if it were down to our taxes prices would only be 17.5% higher but you can guarantee at least a 50% mark up for Europeans and that is down to the manufacturer and the resellers greed.

bah, i wish they could say how they 'confirmed' these prices. because if they really had they could say 'so and so from ati says yadda yadda yadda.'

plus the prices dont make any sense. a $20 dollar difference between the xt and the pro ? no way.

GDDR4 won't be released until later. XTX, I believe, won't be released until later. There shouldn't be any selection for memory size or type for each core. Each core listed above will most likely correspond to a single card (or as multiple cards as noted).
I wouldn't be surprised to find the card for $500 USD. Either AMD's new card can't perform like the 8800GTX or it's just stupidly cheap for them to make. Afterall, what ever happened to that one legal action between nVidia and ATi? Something about them jacking up the price for no apparent reason? Maybe that kicked in.

It's possible that ATI is going to keep the prices down in order to make up for the lead Nvidia has taken by getting their 8800 series out first.

Competition is good for us consumers!
