Sony PlayStation 3 Price stays untouched
It seems at Sony the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. A few days ago Sony's President Ryoji Chubachi told the Financial Times his company is re-examining the pricing and volume distribution of it's gaming console. Today however, Sony released an official statement that says the price will not be cut.

PS3 prices and shipment plans for the future should be determined by market trends and competition. Sony currently doesn't have any specific plan to cut the PlayStation 3's price. The goal to sell 6 million PS3 consoles until the end of March wasn't reached, analysts say there were only around 4 million sold. Kotaku still think the examination is not finished yet and they are likely to come up with a lower price in order to boost sales.

I have been following the ps3 forever on google, and all I see is sony seriously not leaking anything unless truly wanted and what ever news comes out has always been misleading all we need to see is that sony put super into computers.... I would much rather have a super computer than a computer so dont believe anything sony says until the product is in sight.... and sony will come up top cause on the ps3 performance can be folded ,as we invest more time on it . Idont see that happening for a xboc 360 sony could wipe out intel but we also need to remeber that the big guys are all buddies can we all want to make money so it leaves the consumer with a dream and the big guys control our dream to have that big supercomputers on our hands so if you really wanna see some amazing stuff from sony Ignore them nothing they said has been accurate until final moment.... but buy the unit if you know how to use it?????????
the funny thing is, Sony actually admitted that europeans were paying over 40% more for the ps3 then the americans. wheres the marketing strategy in that? its like saying the americans can have the ps3 for free but europeans still have to pay full R.R.P for it.
Its rediculous. thats why I for 1 have never owned a console unless it was given to me for birthday or christmas, the only console I do have & I did buy because I use to work serious long hours was a PSP which sony have more or less given up on.
Im still wating for a Final Fantasy PSP edition to become available not that wildcard crap game which is a rehash of a much older game.
I dont think it would be too hard to just remap the graphics of FF7 slap it on a UMD & sell it. now that would be 1 game worth buying then all the other sorry ass titles that Ive seen
is re-examining the pricing ≠ price cuts will happen
Read this article. It's the End-All argument for hardware comparisons.
