Sapphire's Radeon RX 7900 Cards Make an Early Appearance on Amazon

Although we're almost two weeks away from the official launch of AMD's Radeon RX 7900-series, Sapphire's reference design cards have already made an early appearance on Amazon. Both of its cards are listed on the e-tailers website, but sadly without pricing. No new specs were provided either, but at least we did get some more detailed pictures of the two cards. The cards are simply named the Radeon RX 7900 XT Gaming (21323-01-20G) and the Radeon RX 7900 XTX Gaming (21322-01-20G).

It's very clear from the pictures that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is a much chunkier card than the RX 7900 XT. This also confirms Sapphire as one of the partners that will sell reference cards, but it's unclear if Sapphire will have custom cards ready in time for the launch, or if the company will add those to its line-up at a later date. Note that the model number for the Radeon RX 7900 XTX lists it as having 20 GB of VRAM, although the packaging clearly lists it as having 24 GB. Searching for the model numbers provided by Amazon, it appears that the cards will be in stock in Sweden as well, as one of the local distributors is listing the cards. More pictures after the break.

Hmmm, I wonder if all RDNA3 cards will come in these sexy almost complete black designs.

I like cards that do not look like Carnival in Rio ;) while I like Carnival in Rio, just not my GPUs.

Is anyone taking pre-orders for the 7900 series? It sucks they're launching so close to the holidays. I'd rather not compete with the scalpers.

This simple minimalistic approach of all-black designs doesn't catch the eye at all.
It's super dull.

Why didn't they put at least some RGB?

Look at how beautiful the cards were back in time!

None of the custom designs we've seen so far, have USB-C :(

Black color schemes are neutral and can fit with everything, modern GPU design concerning the PCB color is a huge improvement imo. The user can then customize with and provide the pop.

Doesn't really look like a Sapphire card. I mean it doesn't even say Sapphire on it.

With some luck, they'll think twice as they got burnt with the 4080 or at least some of them won't try to scalp anymore if they can't even get rid of the 4080s at MSRP. If the 4080 drops to 999$ too, they'll eat a nice loss for once :D

Black colour scheme for such a product is bad. The black colour has the worst thermal characteristics and will keep the card hotter than if it were pure white.

I really like the look of a quality heatsink. That is a great looking card.

I was never a fan of the odd art that was so common back in the day. I preferred the black heat sink on red PCB look. The Radeon 9700 Pro was a nice looking card. Not a great cooler, but it didn't need one. I have some really fond memories of that card. I think it was my last AGP card.

Today they put similar art on the boxes.

Read some physics - basic physics.

Light energy can be converted into heat energy. A black object absorbs all wavelengths of light and converts them into heat, so the object gets warm. A white object reflects all wavelengths of light, so the light is not converted into heat and the temperature of the object does not increase noticeably.
are black objects hotter than white - Google Search

Black radiator is the best for winter months since its electricity consumption will be lower and its temperature will be lost slower than if it were white.

It's a heatsink in a PC not a T-shirt. Sunlight won't be hitting it to heat it up. Colour won't make any difference at all. FIZIKS.

It will. Maybe rarely direct but sunlight in all cases during daytime will hit the card. Unless it's kept in 100% darkness which never happens.

You are talking about "LIGHT" energy... in a closed box.... All cats are gray in the dark. And for electric components: It doesn't really matter, because the heat the component might absorb if you are running an open bench rig or one with in a box with a window is neglectable compared to heat generated by the components themself.

The boxes have transparent parts.
Ok, I will tell you in a more simple language. It's more difficult to cool down a black object.

These stupid idiots at AMD.
Will refuse to buy this crap RX 7900 XT now

You may want to look up how Black Body Radiation works. Black emits radiation (including infrared, ie: HEAT) the fastest of all colors.
