Alphacool Unveils New Eisblock Full-coverage Blocks for Radeon RX 7900 Series

The new AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT (X) GPU is here! And Alphacool offers its new Eisblock Aurora cooler, a new, innovative active water cooler for custom layouts of AMD Radeon graphics cards. With significant improvements over the previous Aurora generation, Alphacool now takes it a big step further. What's new. Going forward, Alphacool is now using chrome plating on the copper radiators for all graphics card coolers instead of nickel plating. This is significantly harder and more resistant than nickel plating. The addressable RGB LED lighting also shines better because the chrome plating is much smoother and distributes the light even more beautifully in the cooler.

To dissipate the enormous amount of waste heat, the water flow has been completely redesigned. The jetplate is embedded in the cooling fins and is pressed onto them by a completely redesigned inlet with an O-ring. This ensures that the water is reliably forced through the cooling fins. Optimization of the cooling fins leads to a further increase in performance. The cooling fins were reduced to 0.4 mm and the distance between the fins was minimized to 0.4 mm. This creates a larger cooling surface and reduces the flow resistance of the cooler. This results in a performance plus.
With board partners from AMD, the base of the previous Eisblock cooler has been almost completely redesigned. These major changes are clearly visible in the overall look of the cooler. Alphacool's new Aurora water cooler has been extensively tested on the new RX 7900 XT (X) graphics card generation and has gone through a long development phase to provide the best possible performance.

The Eisblock Aurora water cooler for ASRock AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX/XT Taichi/Phantom, Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX/XT Nitro and Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX/XT Toxic are available for pre-order now from the Alphacool Online Shop.

I feel like I am having de ja vu with these numbers, I remember owning a 7950 and 7970 and it doesn't feel that long ago. Damn, the years fly by fast.

Was just about to ask if there will be no reference layout waterblock.

Also nice to see that you did not pull an EKWB and ask for 200€+ for the block :)

We have no reason to artificially drive prices so high for these coolers. Our margin on these coolers is our standard margin that we require. In addition, an alternative cooler will come, which will be a bit more expensive but also of higher quality. That will be introduced in two days. We will also cover all high-end GPUs with it. It will be a bit more expensive and will be ~200€. But you will also see and understand why this is a bit more expensive. The Aurora coolers will be the most affordable version and the new Core coolers will cover the slightly higher price segment.

I just visited your website for the first time in a long time, probably years if I am honest. It is such a nice website!!!

Really smooth, I like the holiday theme on the sides of the scrolling too, very unique!

Thanks...... but to be honest.... we are working on an new page. I hope we can release the new page in summer next year. This page is very very old. But the shop will stay like it is with only a few smaller technical updates and we will change the categories a bit so you can find some things easier than now.

This year you are pleased with the variety of coolers and the release speed. Good luck!

I still do.

Once prices stabilize I'm finally upgrading though. All water again, this time no window, I never look in unless its to check coolant level anyway.

These look fantastic! I much prefer this design over the 6000 series designs.

That it looks nice, but that's all there is to praise. The 1/4 inch entry channels are the first brake in the circuit, the very narrow entry profile does not even reach the depth of the slots so I won't waste words in the entry channel. . All CPU inlets have 1/2 inch connections and I don't want to set up two separate cooling paths. Given the high operating frequencies of today's hardware, throughput is highly desirable. It is true that the graphics card does not need such a powerful cooling circuit, but the CPU does. Be careful when buying and if you use CF it will not be affected . D5 will be a very desirable pump .we really are getting old . :)

We will make the Core cooler for all High End GPUs for Nvidia and AMD. So all RTX 4080/4090 and all AMD RX 7900XTX/XT. Not sure about smaller cards like 4070TI and how ever the smaller cards from AMD will named. We will see. We made no decision about that right now.

Oh, this was the best news about xtx blocks so far. Is there any timeframe for a 7900xtx reference design core block? I'd very much like to see that before buying anything else.

Will the core cooler be released for the sapphire Nitro 7900 xtx? I just got one yesterday on NE and can't wait to do my first waterloo for gpu only. This is my first amd card since wayyy back in the day, probably been like 14 years. Also never done hard-line, so this is all exciting for me. I'm liking the aurora cooler and might pick that up, but I prefer to go with something less see through and more industrial looking.

Currently, we plan to offer a Core cooler for all 7900XTX models for which we also make an Aurora cooler. When which model will come, I can not say at the moment.
