SilverStone Intros RM51 5U Rackmount Case that can be Tilted into a Tower

SilverStone introduced the RM51, a 5U rackmount case meant for servers and workstations, which can be tilted along its side to be used as a tower-type case. It supports motherboard form-factors that include SSI-EEB, SSI-CEB, E-ATX, and smaller. There are two PSU bays on offer, the main one being a conventional ATX/PS2; while a second SFX PSU can be deployed by replacing a 3.5-inch bracket. Internal drive bays include four 2.5-inch, and up to four 3.5-inch. You get room for a graphics card up to 455 mm in length, and depending on whether you use the expansion slot retainer, either 157 mm or 198 mm of height. The same goes to CPU coolers—181 mm with it, and 192 mm without.

The cooling setup of the SilverStone RM51 includes a mesh-type front intake that can hold either three 120 mm fans, or two 180 mm fans. Two 180 mm Air Penetrator 184i PRO are included with the case. The rear fan-cage holds two 80 mm, and there's another 140 mm vent at the rear I/O. You can mount up to a 360 mm radiator along the front intake, and a 120 mm radiator along the rear exhaust. Including the rear fan-cage, the case measures 440 mm (W) x 220 mm (H) x 485 mm (D). The case should be available in Asia and North America from the second half of February, priced at USD $489.99, with European availability expected in March.

First of all, thank you so much for your help!

I spent a long time researching cooling options for the RM51, and after a lot of work, I came up with a final list that worked for me. However, I did run into one issue: the price of the RM51 is $450, and I imagine the RM52 costs around $500 with its three-inch case.

I used to have a Phantek Elite case, which was quite expensive, and only a few cases could handle the ASUS WRX Pro motherboard at the time. While I don't mind investing in quality parts over quantity, spending $500+ on a case seems too steep for me. Silverstone might offer a great deal on it, but they're in the business of making money, and I respect that.

Therefore, I ordered the BeQuiet 800 Dark Shadow - Black case, which is smaller than the Phantek Elite. I'm excited to receive it in a few days.

Thank you again for your assistance!

Also the other case I did consider is the up and company LianLi SUP 01. But I have not publically seen a release date for that one.

enb141The problem that I see with that case is that doesn't has space for a radiator at top (right on horizontal), also the door is at your right (on vertical) ,and doesn't includes a left door (on vertical).
Well, I have change my mind now I am using it in the horizontal rack position. Bello :)

Good for you but in my case I don't have space to use horizontal oriented cases.
