This title was actually very impressive for its time. It was one of the first games to employ a full 3D engine with six degrees of freedom. It supported eight players in local multiplayer and ran at 70 fps.

I remember playing the shareware version on the school's computers

Not really. Descent was all about corridors and stuff, TV was about flying at the surface. It was tons of fun right until the end when
you were pitted against the final boss in very confined space

Clearly not since both released within a couple of months of each other. 3D accelerators were just coming into the mainstream at that time and many games were rushing to take advantage of them and give a full 360 degrees of movement in a fully 3D rendered environment. Terminal Velocity was much faster paced action than Descent.

Sure it is, Descent was THE game, I don't even remember this thing.

Yes, yes, irrelevant, no-one played this and you clearly never played Descent on a network with other human players, it was insane.

And if it wasn't clear, I was a Descent/Descent 2 fan...

Not that I can remember, no. But as above, I played Descent on a network with other people, which made it an entirely different kind of game.

TV didn't receive the press coverage Descent did and wasn't nearly as popular. But neither of those make TV a Descent clone.

This is awesome. I used to play this game with my dad back in the 90's. We were like this is the coolest name for a game ever lol.

that and Descent/Descent II ... my youth is ... aaaaaaahhhh whatever, i am a nostalgic ... i have dedicated retro rigs just to play games like that ... if i have the original media (or if it is an abandonware) ... sadly Terminal Velocity is one of those i lost the media

nonetheless ... i would gladly buy Terminal Velocity... again ... on GoG preferably (or Epic maybe ... it's the cheapest price of all platform, albeit only 1.10chf/$ less than GoG  ) given the price is not high at all and acceptable for a remaster by my standard

Yes I have. I was playing a whole slew of games on Kali in the 90s. Terminal Velocity was a different animal and played differently than Descent. You're clearly lost.

Honestly i remember both those games as a weird mashup together as well.

Couldn't say why, maybe i just had access to them at the same time?
