I mean is someone really going to buy the collection but then not get last light redux because they just got last light original for free?
Heck its even more odd then that:
Buying the individual missing parts is more expensive then just buying the bundle including the redux version of this free game.....
So you would get on sale now, not the collection, but individual parts?
you would get the redux version of the first game and the last game and combine them in a playthrough with this free original version of the second?
I would assume that would be an odd mismatched experience.
Seems a bit odd that it's not the Redux version for free though. The marketing bobble-heads at Deep Silver will most likely be hyping how good the next Metro game looks graphics wise so why not offer the MLL Redux version to tempt gamers that might not buy the new game otherwise?
Anyway, the word is the next Metro game is possibly going to be released next year. I hope it turns out good and it's not another timed release exclusive on EGS.
But God, a new Metro game that comes after the events of Exodus would be a treat! I just don't see it happening any time soon, though. I don't mind it being on EGS, I have an account and am willing to buy games there, but with the war in Ukraine and Dmitry Glukhovsky in exile, it just looks like a messy, tense atmosphere to create a game.
He recently posted this open letter after the shameful trial in absentia where he was found guilty of "spreading misinformation about the armed forces of the Russian Federation" and becoming a wanted man.

Speaking of EGS, Death Stranding is free on it right now.
And yes, I won't buy the redux games, since I'll just play the originals - like the graphics and style more. What a surprise - buying a set comes cheaper than buying every part separately...
Did it ever occur to you that people may prefer the non redux rt style? Maybe people want to play the game on the old engines, without RT? Wow, what an amazing concept!
"You meanie bots! You cant even read! GOTTEM! :nutkick:"
Us, because of the anniversary, get the game without paying, and they, because they gave us something for free, get reputation, recognition, appreciation for the brand and some gratitude too.
Guy ignores "market".
And even respond himself, confused, while at the same time complaining in: How can be the same person making both comments, especially the second after the first?!?!?!
If you cannot buy a game, but you get the game for free...
Now I understand the point that for example you will probably have the Metro 2033 Redux because you can't buy the original, so then you get the Last Light non Redux, but it's meaningless. If you want or need the Redux, then buy the Redux. This non Redux you can't buy it but you can get it FOR FREE for few days...The only problem with all this is that you can't get that game (on this store at least) if it wasn't for the giving away...BUT NOW YOU CAN HAVE IT FOR FREE. YES! You got some examples here in the comments of people that don't care about remastered versions. I do like them. I usually play both. Sometimes they are great upgrades from the original and sometimes not. AARRRGGGHH!!!!!
Don't know if laugh or cry...
Really, any working concept of market, commerce, publicity, offers, economy, logic, etc, completely escapes him.
It's called "offer" (at least the textual translation from my original language).
...and then (here is when you write "then"): MEGAFACEPALM
Simply amazing...
Anyway, thanks 4A Games/Deepsilver for the FREE GAME and thanks Techpowerup for notifying us. I didn't have it and now I do have it, while paying nothing, so, for free, when I already had the original Metro 2033 not "Last Light " but the original game, also not-Redux...amazing huh? From a giving away too. I could also buy for almost nothing the Redux version (and the first game too) but I already have it in another platform/store. Will see.
Cool that it's free, but it performs like absolute ass on my system, fps goes from 29fps - 58fps. Odd. Maxed out 4K.
If you got the "Limited Edition" (which includes the Novel DLC), then you need to add the game via browser console to not loose the Novel DLC. If you only got the "Standard Edition" you can just remove the game from the library, relaunch STEAM and then claim the Complete Edition. You should have then all 7 DLC's in your account. Or 8 DLC's if you owned the "Limited Edition" with the Novel DLC.
