Minisforum V3 High-Performance AMD AI 3-in-1 Tablet Starts at $1199 Pre-Sale

Minisforum has unveiled a game-changing device that blurs the lines between tablets and laptops: the Minisforum V3. Today, the V3 laptop has hit the Minisforum store. This innovative 3-in-1 tablet is powered by the high-performance AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor, offering a unique blend of portability and computing power. Unlike its traditional Mini PC design, Minisforum has adopted the popular form factor of Microsoft Surface and Lenovo Yoga tablet PCs with the V3. This versatile device can be a handheld tablet, a laptop with an included magnetic attachable keyboard, or a solo kickstand. At the heart of the Minisforum V3 lies the 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 8840U processor, capable of delivering exceptional performance for demanding tasks. The tablet features a stunning 14-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, making it an ideal choice for creative professionals and content creators.

The V3's standout feature is its advanced cooling system, which allows the Ryzen 7 8840U and onboard Radeon 780M iGPU to operate at a stable 28 watts. This ensures smooth and efficient performance even under heavy workloads, making it a reliable device for all your tasks. The tablet's screen boasts a remarkable 500 nits of brightness, and its high color gamut coverage makes it perfect for professionals who require accurate color representation. Minisforum has priced the V3 competitively at $1199 at the pre-sale offering, making it an attractive option for those seeking a powerful and versatile device that can adapt to various scenarios. This primary option includes 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD for storage. For early birds, Minisforum offers a V Pen, tempered glass screen protector, and laptop sleeve as a gift. Here is the link to the Minisforum V3 store.

In the EU, it's much more - starting at €1,359.00. Every single comment that I saw so far was that everyone expected it to be cheaper and at the current price they won't buy it.
Add two months of waiting for shipping (if you are lucky enough to get it from the first batch).

Also, with the dock, you could just use it as a PC connected to a monitor, mouse and keyboard. Really, the USD price seems reasonable considering the specs of 32GB/1TB. It's just not for me though.

In the 3rd pic, the one with what appears to be some sort of zoom call, the lady in that pose is incredibly awkward...interesting snap with her hand placement...lol

This is about USD $300 more than a similarly specced (8845H 32GB/1TB) Lenovo Xiaoxin/Ideapad 14" which is in stock for pickup/shipping right now.

Seems like a bizarre margin to try to justify with the tablet/kickstand gimmick.

The tablet form factor is not a gimmick to me. It's why I've used the Surface Pro line since the Surface Pro 2.

The versatility is unmatched, especially in tight spaces.

That's a fair 3 in 1. Maybe it should be marketed like that

Take note that the VLink (DP-in) only does 60Hz when used as an external display. It only reaches 165Hz when in standard operation.

It can handle 30W TDP if you use RyzenAdj to force it higher, not bad at 70C. Supports integer scaling at 800p quite well, if you enable it in the registry.

It's also ~1lb lighter than the Ideapad 14" and has a 1600p 165hz screen verses a 1200p 60hz screen. I couldn't find a Ideapad 14" with more than 16GB of RAM(in the US), so it has 16GB more RAM unless you can confirm otherwise.

Laptops/tablets have always been about compromise. This one's value comes from the (probably) better screen, light weight & added RAM capacity.

Sorry what is their support like? What is their returns policy? How easy are they to repair? Do I have to send it back to them. How many repair houses do they have in Australia?

IMO they are still a Neville nobody brand that just can't charge that sort of money.

Correction, with the latest BIOS it goes straight to 54W.

FWIW thisis what I was comparing against. 1800p 120hz OLED, 32GB RAM.
