Rhythm FPS Metal: Hellsinger VR Launches for $29.99 With New Features

Metal: Hellsinger is a first-person rhythm shooter featuring roguelike and boomer shooter elements and set to a heavy metal soundtrack with some of the metal world's biggest names. The game follows a mysterious protagonist, known simply as The Unknown, as she battles her way through the various levels of hell on a quest to regain her voice. Today, the rhythm shooter launches an additional VR version, with some interesting new VR-specific rhythm mechanics to spice things up.

Being a rhythm game, Metal: Hellsinger gives players bonuses for performing actions on-beat with the background music—which often gets quite challenging due to the fast pace and swarming enemies—but the VR version steps things up a notch, allowing you to aim the game's dual pistols individually, physically draw and release the crossbow, and actively reload the shotgun to the beat.
Slay to the rhythm of metal and vengeance on an infernal journey through the eight Hells. Make them fear the beat. Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm FPS bursting with demons, badass weapons, and heavy metal music.
Obviously, this sort of game appeals to a limited audience, given the nature of the soundtrack and the somewhat limited scope of the rhythm game genre, but since the original PC version launched in 2022, it has managed to rack up a surprising 93.6% positive rating on Steam from over 12,000 reviews. Metal: Hellsinger VR is available on Steam for $29.99, and players who already own the original game get a 25% discount via the Metal: Hellsinger VR Bundle, bringing it down to $22.50

Hellsinger? I suppose there's a ninth Hell after the first eight, where you carry totally different set of weapons in your briefcase, and your job is to sell your hot processors from hell.

I don't remember the details but I got a similar idea of a fps rythm game 8-10 years ago when I was student.

Hopefully more developers take a page out of their book. The VR modding community had originally made the original Hellsinger into a flat2VR mod. While good, it still had some issues. The devs liked it so much that they decided to make an official Hellsinger VR. The VR mod community is IMO what makes PCVR so dang special. Have been hoping for years that developers would start making more VR versions of their games. Can't wait to stream this one.

Hmm sounds interesting, enjoyed the original but the price seems a bit steep to me, knowing very well I won't play it anytime soon, discount waitlist it is.

if you own the original, you get a discount for the VR version. Not sure exactly how much. I want to say 25% or 50% off.

Am aware of that, 25% off, still a bit steep for my own circumstances right now.
