AMD Software Adrenalin 24.10.1 WHQL Released

AMD today released the latest version of AMD Software Adrenalin drivers for its Radeon RX graphics cards. Version 24.10.1 WHQL comes with optimization for "Unknown 9: Awakening" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6." AMD HYPR-Tune support has been expanded to include "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6," "7 Days to Die," and "Once Human." The drivers address intermittent performance drops when playing certain areas of "DayZ." It also corrects a game crash seen with "DOOM Eternal" with Metrics Overlay enabled.

New Game Support
  • Unknown 9: Awakening
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Expanded HYPR-Tune Support
HYPR-Tune support allows HYPR-RX to enable in-game technologies like AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution and AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2.
Support has been added to automatically configure AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution with frame generation in:
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops
  • 7 Days to Die
  • Once Human
Fixed Issues and Improvements
  • Intermittent performance impact when entering certain areas while playing DayZ.
  • Intermittent system or application crash may be observed when changing in-game resolution settings while playing Doom Eternal with AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition Metrics Overlay enabled.
Known Issues
  • Intermittent driver timeout or crash may be observed while playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Users experiencing this issue can enable Variable Graphics Memory in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition as a temporary measure (AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition > Performance > Tuning > Variable Graphics Memory).
  • System crash may be observed when first launching SteamVR while using Valve Index at 144 Hz on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics products.
  • After using the AMD Cleanup Utility for Windows, the AMD Bug Report Tool may appear intermittently during a new driver install on AMD Ryzen 7000 and above series processors paired with AMD Graphics Products.
  • Intermittent application freeze may be observed while loading a save file in Monster Hunter: World.

Funny, because for me the software stops responding after some time now with this driver and only closing it via taskmanager and opening it again helps. Didnt have any issues like that before.

Try a clean install, would be the only thing I can think. Haven't seen that one.

Did that thrice already, it keeps happening. Havent had that before either. For some odd reason, i believe it has got something to do with the Spotify app. I need to observe it more, but for now it seems like it only happens when im afk and let music run via Spotify. When i come back the overlay metrics dont display voltage graphs anymore and Adrenaline doesnt open unless i fully close it through Taskmanager. Hardware Acceleration on/off in Spotify didnt make a difference either. ‍:(

It always depends on the games you play and the features you want. If you're not interested in playing the latest games and are not having problems with your current games, then no, you don't need to download and install the latest graphic drivers.

On the other hand, if you want to try out new features like AFMF2 (version 2 of AMDs driver based Frame Generation technology) or Anti-Lag 2 in Counter-Stike 2, then the latest drivers include those features.

As for me, I'm not the type of guy that regularly keeps their driver up to date. In fact, I'm still on the preview driver for AFMF2 that released back in July or whatever, but I will be downloading this driver tonight because I regularly play DayZ and this driver fixes an issue with that game.

After that, my next driver will probably be whenever STALKER 2 releases or shortly afterwards.

You have to install and test it on your rig.

That is super odd. It could be related to Spotify as you theorize, I don't use that.
